Second time here, we weren’t sure what to expect as other restaurants we had previously been to had fallen off the mark because of the pandemic however I was utterly blown away by the food more so this time around. I have to say that...some of these dishes I will never forget and I have been all over the world eating at the most finest restaurants. ‘Bravo Comptoir de Brice ‘ you have one my foodie heart! My palate went on a journey with every element complimenting one another, I had squid for starters, with time piccolos and a chorizo crumb with a savoury pepper ice cream. Wow! Main course confit lamb which was the best I’ve eaten, potatoes soft and cheesy, a jus so delicious. Desert was their signature banana strusal encased in a sphere with hot chocolate sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant. Well done, until next time !!More

Another fabulous dinner - we love food, I cook - if only I could come close to the combination of flavours, textures and presentation which Brice offers... he is gifted. Relaxed bistro atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food at a reasonable price.

We’d booked for 7.30, but the restaurant wasn’t open when we arrived. They seemed rather harassed when we did finally enter. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. They charged us for the wrong table, a hefty overcharge, but we returned and it was sorted....I’d eat here again.More

What a find. Décor wise, the restaurant is unremarkable but the presentation and taste of the various plates we enjoyed were just great. The attentive service and excellent wine recommendation made this one of our best meals in France. Well worth the Google Maps tour...of Angouleme to find this gemMore

Was really looking forward to this meal as come to Angouleme every year and was keen to try this place out. Unfortunately despite having a reservation we were shown to a table upstairs which was really hot and the waitress who was serving our area...proceeded to completely avoid us for 35 minutes without bringing any water, taking a drink order, nothing. Eventually another guy noticed we were sitting there with nothing and took our order and he seemed much better but then we were left to the girl again so another 15 minutes passed before we even got some water. The menu is pretty small, 3 starters, 3 mains, etc.so not a lot of choice but I must say the starters and main was really good. The pavlova dessert was really disappointing and my husband’s cheese just never turned up. By this point it had taken over 2 1/2hours and we were losing the will to live.More

Came in without a reservation on a saturday evening during The Black Weekend... tired after only 450 km and hours of traffic jams around Bordeaux. Was offered a seat at the Kitchen Bar, something I enjoy. The food is too cheap for what you get...: two starters tuna with avocado and Ginger Granita (8E) and Ceviche with funny small aromatic chili's (8E). Both well served and full of flavour. The Main, a piece of porc again a serious portion with mashed peas and filled pasta shells (18E). If anything wrong I have to slow the pace of service as so often in France and Spain. The wine was good although I got a cheaper bottle than I ordered. Nice talks with the Chef , nice conversation and a small XO tasting (we are in Cognac so I had to). All in all a great evening, fun dinner and nice Wine & Cognacs. I understand the volume pressure at such a location with fierce competion (so many restaurants in the old part of Angouleme), but for me : smaller portions , slower pace and I would be happy to pay even a little bit more Enjoy this Restaurant, I didMore

Food was average - the meat on plate of the day was a very unexciting piece of chicken. Desert was good although one of us found a hair in it. Price is very reasonable for lunch. The service was the main problem - very inattentive...even when we were last in the restaurant. It took 23 minutes before first contact. Kind apology from a gentleman waiter though about being short staffed. Starter was brought and there was no cutlery. Bread came and still no cutlery! We asked and eventually, very casually, a girl brought the cutlery and glasses. No apology. A highly rated restaurant should have been a better experience.More

Went to france for a week, this is one of the best meals I had so I came here twice. Seasoning, tenderness of the meat and the service comes in perfect. The restaurant changes menu every 3 weeks so you probably cannot have the same...dishes I had. Awesome people running the restaurant with good vibes, hope to come back one day!More

Very limited choice, 3 starters, 3 mains, 3 deserts... but that doesn't matter much when all food is so great ! (although for vegan/vegetarian diners it would be best to look elsewhere) standard of food was great, pricing reasonable.. staff helpful and enjoying their work,...very willing to advise on drinks and explain questions on the food (even while Angouleme was suffering with very high temperatures) Hits the spot, can definitely adviseMore
