Looking for somewhere not far from the cathedral for lunch and came across this restaurant. Looked unpretentious from the outside but was full of locals which is always a good sign. Had a very good soup and fish course with merlin and white asparagus wrapped in ham and fresh vegetables all beautifully presented.

We found this restaurant by chance whilst wandering the old town of Poitiers. We had an outside table as we had the dog with us. It only has a limited menu on a large chalkboard. But do not be put off by this. The food was absolutely lovely. As was the bottle of local rose wine - Marigny Neuf Rose.... More

We ate at the Toque yesterday and could not fault it in any way. The food is a great example of a genuine French bistro. Exceptional value for money, great service and wonderful food. Good idea to book as we saw approximately 20 people turned away. Definitely return on our next trip to Poitiers.

We walked through the old part of Poitiers (along a street just up from the cathedral) and as it was lunchtime we decided to sit down for lunch. We had the dog with us (Springer spaniel) and upon asking she was welcome - even inside. The decor was modern and clean. We were served by two charming and friendly ladies.... More

We were Delighted to find such a lovely restaurant with great service. We stumbled across the restaurant by accident and we were very impressed with the flavours of the food. The meal was light but utterly satisfying and delicious. We'll done to all concerned.

We were I think the only tourists there that night, there seemed to be a few families and mostly groups of local people meeting up for a meal. The food was really excellent, we thought we would have the two courses but ended up having three with a good bottle of white Graves. Starters were a really good salmon and... More

Came across this little restaurant on the way down to the Cathedral. Busy, lovely smell of food. We chose from the lunchtime menu de jour and had a lovely meal, good service, very reasonable wine list. Well worth a visit!

On the way to the Cathedral, this local spot was very busy. Food was excellent. Service very good. Hostess really tried to be very helpful in that we had no reservations. Many local specialties as main plates. Try the Tripe. Really very good, plus the fries were the best I have enjoyed in France.

Menu entirely in French and speak little English which indicates it is a favourite with the locals. We always try to eat off the 'tourist track' and this restaurant did not disappoint. Friendly service and well cooked meals. Would recommend; reasonably price; good wine list.

The food was amazing! We had the local bio wine... very interesting taste! The attention was superb. It was not crowded when we got there. But got full by the time we left. This is a family restaurant. Only one small restroom. This restaurant is a must while in Poitiers.
