A very cost effective lunch in a pretty hillside village set back not far from the coast. Recommended.

This restaurant is down a narrow alleyway off the pedestrianised main street of Biot (another hilltop village). The building is interesting and quite old. We had supper there twice in one week; the first time we sat indoors as it was raining, but on our return visit we sat out on the terrace. From the terrace there is a panoramic... More

I was traveling with my older parents and they like to eat a little early. It was about 6:00p.m.. the owner was outside the restaurant getting ready. He wasn't even dressed for work. He was so kind and said "please come in". He gave us a table outside with a great valley view. The service was great and the food... More

Sad that the food was not good compared to the expensive price we paid. Kind service and lovely place so too bad that the food did not taste better

We went to Biot and looked for a good restaurant, well rated and less expensive than the exquisite and rather expensive Les Terraillers. Our selection was Le Jarrier. A two course lunch for 25EUR and good ratings sounds very good, but it became a disappointment. The best at that restaurant was the view. We ate a rather good salad without... More

We visited Le Jarrier last year and based on their excellent quality, we were looking for a second equally excellent visit. Unfortunately, the chef left and a new one has changed the recipes. Of course, the sautéed fresh foie gras was superb. But the steak tartare, which last year was one of the best one ever, had been completely changed... More

We stopped at le Jarrier as we were looking for a nice terrace. Le Jarrier has 2 small ones both overlooking the hills of Biot (on which unfortunately too many houses have been built). The service is excellent. It offers the comfort and efficiency of a high end restaurant but in a relaxed atmosphere. The place looks clean and has... More

We ate here as the restaurant was offering 30% off food and wine when booked through tripadvisor. We actually got 25% off food only, but couldn't face an argument. Without this reduction the food is seriously over priced. The menu is short and expensive. For mains it is basically either beef or fish. For starters (all 15€) we had a... More

We visited here during a week in Biot and have to say this was the most disappointing restaurant of the lot. Drawn in by the offer of 30% off, the prices still seemed extortionate... we were eating for 4 but personally I felt like I got the shortest straw - a hard stack of aubergine, tomato and mozzarella followed by... It's a truism that most local restaurants in the many towns and neighborhoods in France serve slightly above average meals. Le jarrier is no exception.
