Plein Sud is a basic little café situated beside the canal in the old town. It is in a lovely position so try and sit outside. The staff were a little abrupt this maybe because they were very busy. There is a small menu to choose from, we had salads which had fruit on the top.

nice smiling staff but it is maybe to hide the fact that the menu is quite poor. the salads comes with an original arrangement as the chef put fruits in the salad such as strawberries, raspberries, etc... the location is good but if you are seating on the terrace, all people passing by are checking what you are eating as... Can't argue with the price, set menu on offer at 16.90 euro for choice of starters, pizzas and desserts. I had the tomato salad (oddly decorated with raspberry, blackberry and a cherry, but tasty, and with a basket of very good fresh crusty bread), a mushroom pizza (not on menu but offered when I asked if I could have one... We loved this restaurant, eating there twice in our several day stay in Annecy in Sept. Enjoyed sitting outside along the River Thiou canal on gorgeous evenings. We liked the variety of the delicious veggies and other items in the "Plein Sud" salad and the pizzas delish too with the perfectly cooked fried egg on the top a nice touch.... More

I visited at the weekend which was very busy in Annecy, walking by we didn't think much Plein Sud despite it's location but it was the only place with a spare table and the prices were v reasonable for Annecy so we decided to take a table - we were so glad we grabbed it! The staff were very friendly,... More

Pretty salads and lovely food here. I enjoyed a beautifully presented salad, it was a picture on a plate. Staff are friendly and helpful....the pizzas look good too. We spent 72 euros on a 3 course meal with drinks. Not bad for such a wonderful location. It was good to sit and watch the world go by!

We spent three nights in this superb lakeside resort and visited different restaurants each night. The Plein Sud is situated on the side of the beautiful canal leading to the iconic prison in the old town area of Annecy. Earlier in our stay we noticed their 'plats de jour' which was priced at under 17 euro and decided we would... More

This little restaurant is classically of the region and in the centre of Annecy on the river Thiou. You therefore might think this is a typical tourist place and of course to some extent it is. However, the food was very good. We had two pizzas and the base was freshly made and and thin and crisp. We also had... More

We had lunch at Plein Sud which is located along one of the main canals in the old part of Annecy. The pizzas were good and reasonably priced and the service was reasonably quick and friendly.

I went to Annecy with a friend and we decided to have the lunch menu (15,60 Euros) with three courses. The restaurant is located perfectly for a lunch in the sun just next to the beautiful canal. My friend had the mixed salad as her first course and me the tomatoes. Both were really good and fresh. For the main... More
