Cosey traditional resto with a suprising presentation. The meat flambe is a interesting show. I liked the Sardine salad in its original metal case. The wine is good for a reasonable price.

Short and highly unusual menu; the Potence is the way to go. This is a dish for two with a choice of beef and/or duck. We took both. Just prior to serving, the dish is set on the bar, doused with brandy, and lit. The flames reach 4 feet! The torture device is suspended over a pan of french fries... More

The "Potence" is a very scenographic dish. It is a medieval torture device filled with chunks of meat, set on fire over a pot of french fries. The meat is good but not exceptional, even if it retains the taste of Cognac. However... how is that possible that the french fries are so tasteless...? Bleah... Lovely venue but the tables are... More

This little restaurant, barely more than a hole in the wall, offers a unique dining experience. Their speciality is taken out of medieval tiles, the ball of a spike club threaded with meat, hung over a pot of fries and then flambéed with cognac letting the juices and cognac drip into the fries ... Add to that the fact that... More

I enjoyed a lot this place. Ambient was smooth and warm and people really fantastic. Not many tables but this helps a lot to keep the noise level very low. We had a great appetizer with Lobster and some kind of tortellini. Entree has been a surprise: we shared (in two) a kind of huge pineapple of duck and beef... More

We decided to go to this restaurant intrigued by its original name. We had a very good evening, the decoration inside is stunning and worth seeing ! The dishes were excellent, from the starter to the dessert and the wine list is great. You can rely on the waitress to get good advice with the smile ! Definitely a must-see... More

The restaurant is nice and has a special atmosphere. We sat outside on the terrace. Unfortunately the trams that go by make a lot of noise. And we had bad luck with the choice we made for diner. Staff tried to solve our problem, but our experience still was disappointing.

This restaurant has a gimmick, which is that they serve three different kinds of meat on a sort of upright spit thing that they light on fire at your table (a "potence" - apparently dates from medieval times). It looks impressive because the fire is huge, but we did not order this so can't comment on how it tastes. They... More
