This is classic Lyonnais bouchon cuisine at its finest. We went there on the recommendation of our AirBnB host for lunch the day we arrived. Our meal, the owner, Luc, the low key ambiance and the totally French clientele set the perfect tone for our trip. This is classic country French cooking with lots of offal on the menu. Not... More

OMG, tonight's dinner at "Le Musee" was another perfect example of "buchon" style cooking. While the fine dining from the other night was a feast for the mind, tonight's dinner is truly comfort food for the soul. Tonight's run down is.... An aperitif of blackberry juice with white wine. Starters of sausage in a brioche and a terrine of chopped... More

The daily menu is presented by Chef Luc, who is notably proud of the daily creations. Service is an impeccable family affair and the food is wonderful. When in Lyon, go to the Bouchon!

We were delighted to be able to get a table back at one of our favourite bouchon, Le Musee. A visit to Lyon seems incomplete without a dinner at this wonderful establishment. It is not just the food, which I love, but also the ambiance and sense camaraderie that make it such a memorable experience. Our host, Luc, described each... More

Wasn´t prepared for this environment, full of people, very noisy but was soon charmed by this place and it´s owner though I would have prefered to read the meny instead of listening to it. Food is very Lyonaisse! Brioche with sausage/snails in sauce were very good and the main course, porc well cooked was heavenly. Desserts were 10 out of... More

We ate for lunch. It was absolutely delicious. We had the snails and sausage brioche (soooo good), beef (marinated for days - soooo tender - amazing) and quenelle (seafood) and a praline tart. Highly recommend all of these dishes. Staff are also amazing and friendly. Go to this place.

We went to Le Musee after our hotel recommended us many bouchons and this was by far the top rating here. The food did not disappoint. Tried the escargot for starter and then pike fish souffle. The lobster sauce was sooo good. I can tell it has a lot of butter and cream but doesn't matter because it tasted good.... More

While Luc, the owner, entertains you and takes your order with a smile and a joke there is nothing funny about his kitchen. The chef knows his business. The marrow bones were superb. Pork cheeks melted in my mouth with a sublime sauce with just a touch of vinegar to cut the richness. Mushroom salad was excellent. The rest of... More

Le Musée has become a Lyon institution. There is a handwritten menu which the patron explains, in detail, with wit and humour. It is essential to book since space is very limited, and advisable to get there as soon as possible since quantities are also limited and run out quickly. One sits cheek-by-jowl with one's neighbours, everyone chats to everyone... More

Make sure you book in advance as this very unique French restaurant has limited seating and booked out. And that is for a reason. It is very quaint, the owner comes around and explains the menu and telling jokes, although they are in French, mind you he doesn't tell you the price. So you order an entree & main wine... More
