Other reviews speak of stars..we think they are right! We booked l'etage based on TA reviews. It was incredible! 6 courses for 50€ is a bargain for this quality. Asparagus with caviar, the best foie gras we ever had, cod with scallops dandelion greens, beef that melts in your mouth, and 2 delicious desserts. All served by a charming mustached... More

Was looking for a food experience in Lyon that didn't cost a fortune and found a great one in L'Etage. A very unassuming entrance leads to a very cosy and cute dining room. We went for the tasting menu which was lovely and with only a 50 euro price tag was amazing. New season asparagus, caviar, scallops, foie gras, lamb... More

The entrance to this restaurant can be a little tricky to find. The steep flight of ancient, well-worn steps add to the intrigue. But beyond the door is a beautifully decorated, wood paneled, intimate dining room that overlooks the square below. To start I had the foie gras with parsnip purée and also the scallops with salted fish eggs. Absolutely... More

Lyon has over 2000 restaurants so picking one for a birthday meal is quite a challenge. As we were just a couple we selected a smaller more intimate restaurant in L'Etage. Although not the most inviting of locations on the 2nd floor of a building with no lift and steep stairs once inside everything was fine. With only about 28... More

The restaurant is located right in the Place des Terreaux so we were initially a little skeptical that this was one of those "tourist trap" restaurants. it definitely is not. A small door leads to a mysterious looking hallway and staircase up to the restaurant. Once you enter, you see the warm, charming and intimate restaurant (only about 8 tables).... More

Very friendly host, lovely food, setting and ambience. It's a small restaurant upstairs with a view of the square and in a wood panelled room. French hospitality at it's best!

We have eaten our way all over France in 6 trips...our dinner last night at L'Etage has to rate among one of the best meals we've had. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor ( no elevator), so the location is very quiet. There's a maximum of 32 diners at 8 tables, and one of the things we liked... More

Out of this world restaurant, you will struggle to find a more welcoming restaurant anywhere in Europe. Mine host a wonderful gentleman with a patient and understanding view on life, well worth a visit.

Excellent food in a very welcoming and cozy environment ! The tasting menu was inventive and gave you a broad sample of the chefs abilities . The host , who was also our waiter , had a fantastic sense of humor and kept a good pace with the food. He was knowledgeable about wine pairings as well as the dish... More

I start by saying I really mean the title. It's wonderful. It started when I sent an email for booking a Saturday dinner for my wife's birthday , got response it's full but offered Friday dinner instead. We didn't took it but I asked if it's possible if there will be place for Saturday that I get contacted and so... More
