Chef Matthieu Viannay has restored this iconic Lyon restaurant to its former glory. Service is impeccable, and the wine list is very extensive, with markup levels that are fair. We had a very good bottle of white Châteauneuf du Pape. We chose the Menu tradition with three mains which is fairly priced at Euro 125. The dishes served are classic... More

The old house in this beautiful neighborhood is a hidden adventure. The restaurant is divided by 4 or 5 intimate dinning rooms. Beautiful decoration. Feel like dining at someones home. The waiters speak perfect english and it was very helpful. About the dishes..so they were very good. We shared the sole fish which was a real delight.

An institution in Lyon, we were told, and a holy place of classic French cuisine. Both are ctrue if you measure the number of waiters, assistants and wardrobe clerks around and if you would count the calories on your plate. It is an experience, but not to be repeated often if only for health reasons. We prefer the more evolved... More

You know that Lyon is the capital of gastronomie in France and la Mere Brazier is where everything starts. It is a very unique place for unique occasions or for unique VIP guests to show them the french nice places and to taste the refined plates there. Very special "degustation" , very special wine , excellent deserts. Above all ,... More

As soon as you walk in, you know your gonna be spending a lot. Very elegant staff wait for you, very formal and well presented. The menu is large enough but you wont find anything below 50 Euro. Some dishes go up to 200 Euro. The food is French and the focus is on presentation as well as taste, the... More

We were there for lunch on our 1st day at Lyon. The restaurant was easy to find with great decor. Service was excellent and staff were friendly and professional. Had a big selection of wines and sommelier's recommendation was great, everybody love it. Food was more than superb, everything matches so well together and we truly had a 5 stars... More

If you are looking for a three star Michelin restaurant with impeccable service, a certified sommelier and creative, delicious, incredible food from start to finish, then this is the place! I recommend the more expensive fix price menu (approximately $200) to get a broader selection of specialties. Wine is extra and a wine pairing is also available. By the Way:... More

We expected more from a supposed 2-star restaurant in the world's gastronomic capital. The food was underwhelming and the staff, although attentive at times seemed ready to be rid of us towards the end, to the point we left half our cheese board untouched and are till waiting for the port list to go with the cheese.

When I travel to France, I look for restaurants that have fine and rare wines available at reasonable prices so this review may be of little interest to you unless you share that interest in wine. The food here is very good in a traditional style, with special mention to a Bresse chicken cooked in vin jaune and served in... More

Upon our arrival at La Mere Brazier, we were seated in a small room (where there was a lot of traffic as there was another room in behind, so patrons and servers had to go through the space we were in to access it). Both my husband and I immediately noticed a very musty smell in the room; we tried... More
