Very eclectic interior, homey and welcoming. Service was slow initially, but I think they might only have just opened when we walked in. Good bistro food, my husband ordered the 7 hour lamb and it arrived as an enormous portion of meltingly soft lamb with enough mash potatoes and gratin of cardoons to feed 2 people. I ordered a shepherd's... More

Thanks to TripAdvisor, I found Chez Grand Mere. Here has light meals such as feuillete de cagouilles a l'ail (croissant stuffed with escargots), serious dishes such as agneau de "7 heures" (stewed lamb) or special dish like cuisses de grenouilles en persillade (fried frog legs).

We passed by on our road trip down south and stopped for dinner with our two year-old daughter. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious (the lamb was great!), and they even made a half portion of their ravioli for our toddler. The price is reasonable but you do get what you pay for. I 100% recommend this restaurant.

This was our second visit. Food is great but pretty rich and not too many choices for people who can't eat cheese but that said my chicken was excellent. My friends all had the ravioli which they loved. Also chocolate mousse for desert was devine! The decor is quirky and the vibe is buzzing but not overly crowded. We had... More

Not a fancy setting. Not fancy food. But, incredibly delicious food and lots of it. One pre fixe dinner was almost more than the two of us could eat. The leek (poireaux) vinaigrette with a boiled egg was wonderful. The lamb seven hours was accompanied by mashed potatoes and a sweet potato and Chestnut casserole. All three were amazing. The... Great atmosphere, pretty restaurant and great food. The ravioli, salads and meat dishes are great. Tip: go for the 3 course menu and share it with two. It is plenty for two people!

Food is OK, reasonable price-quality ratio. Problem is with the service. We went in person to the restaurant instead call them by phone. We can not make a reservation at 20:30 despite a lot of people were still arriving at 21:15. No waiter wanted to help us with the order. Long time between courses and between courses and desserts. Best... More

We ate at La Grand Mere. Okay but not exceptional, reasonable price compared with the other restaurants. We both had the 26.90 euro menu which allows you to choose a la carte dishes with a few supplements. We had foi gras (4 e supplement) very nice, and baked camembert (not cooked enough). This was followed by the 7 hour cooked... More

The restaurant serves simple no fuss traditional French food and does it very well. The decoration could not be more authentic and the staff friendly. The portions are huge, none of us managed to finish our dish, it would be great if the restaurant could emphasise even more on quality rather than quantity.

We had no reservation, but we were accomodated anyway. A risky move! Decoration is fantastic, antique things everywhere, music was vintage as well. For 28 euros we had typical French food, in large amounts. But quality was very good, and service was perfect. Good wine list. If you want a warm place, this is the spot.
