Visited this little gem of a restaurant with a group of work colleagues. The restaurant is old, rickety and rustic, and set within a tower over two floors. We were squashed into a corner on mismatched chairs and tables cobbled together. We ordered a selection of local red and white wine to accompany the hearty food on offer. Service was... More

We had a wonderful dinner over Easter. The menu and wine list has a large variety of local dishes. Service was excellent - friendly but not obtrusive. The building is tiny but still holds 60+ guests on 2 dining floors. It was half full when we left, but I imagine it can feel cramped when full. Highly recommended!

We were a group of eight having dinner here on a week day, and the place was packed. There was little room between tables and very tight for the waiters to move around. But this is part of being in a historical buildings which was originally used as a prison and was part of the old city walls. The food... More

I came here with a group from work, and as it was summer, we sat outside. Typical of your German restaurants we started with beer and kept it coming. I found the food to be very tasty, and had a pork dish (with sauce; no surprise) and spaetzle. The food was very tasty, the service was adequate, and overall we... More

We were a group of 8 for a festive dinner. The setting is very unique. Usually, dinner is served inside the tower. On hot days, however, the tower is closed and people are instead seated outside. The "Zwiebelrostbraten" was cold and served with no sides. The menu's intention was to serve it with potato salad. However, as the salad was... More

We were a group of 9 for a business dinner in this Restaurant. Our table was in the upper floor. (no elevator) The food was good but the round table for all of us a bit tight, but OK that we could sit together. Local dishes available.

Some times really can understand ratings... It is about a restaurant located in a small traditional tower. Few tables around, an excellent waitress with great suggestions! Compared with other experiences in the city, for sure we would not miss the opportunity to revisit it!

The setting is unique as it is located within a tower that was part of the old city wall. Sometimes these type of places can be a bit of a 'tourist trap' but this was certainly not the case. The food was very good and not overly expensive. Worth a visit when in Stuttgart.
