My wife and I went to Cafe Kneitinger and had Hot chocolate and 2 Sahne und Kremtorte which was one of the best we ever had. If you are in Garmisch Partenkirchen just stop and try one

We were out walking and an overwhelming desire for Marzipan hit, and we were in front of this place. We took out three different desserts, and I am glad we waited until we got home or we would have bought out the shop. EXCELLENT pastry, and we had just come from France where they know a thing or two about... More

Café Kneitinger has a great atmosphere with a nice selection of quality breakfast items and it is all you can eat so bring a big appetite. The buffet is available on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, the coffee and teas choices are delicious and of very good quality. The café also offers alcoholic drinks, ice cream, truffles, and loads of pastries... More

Whenever we visit the Garmisch area, we always make sure to stop at the Cafe Kneitinger to load up on pastries before heading home to Italy...we're never disappointed with the quality and variety of their offerings, from cheesecake and apple strudel to the more exotic sacher torte, rhubarb or cherry cakes, chocolate mousse cakes, etc. You just can't get pastries... Rather expensive for an out-of-way konditorei. Food was god but nothing to write Mom about. Service was ok. Probably will not visit there again.

Ate na "Obsttorte" and a "Cappuccino groB". Wonderful quality, adequate serving of the slice of cake and very expedite service. Everything was neat and clean, from the comercial área, to the toilets. The employees were very friendly, helpful and polite. The beverage costed 3,90€ (a bit expensive) and the cake 3,10€ (adequate price). Will return, for sure.

I went back to Germany in 2013 and of course had some meals at Cafe Kneitinger in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Very nice Menu with many options for Breakfast and Lunch with a Breakfast Buffet with breads, fruits, eggs, juices, so on. My husband ate the lunch time Schnitzel with Pommes and he said it was delicious. I ordered the Ham and Cheese... More

Description
The hotel receptionist at Hotel Schatten sent us to have coffee and cake here in the afternoon. The cakes were beyond belief good--seven layers of fillings kinds of cakes. Lots and lots of choices. The coffee was adequate, and the restaurant area was nice. I think they offered other things, but can't speak to their whole menu. But for desserts they should definitely be in Tripadvisor.
