The restaurant was recommended to us during our trip to Munich, but unfortunately it has proven to be just mediocre. Not a bad place, but also nothing to write home about. Would not repeat.

Tenno is one of the few places in Munich where you can find both Otoro and Chutoro, when available. Likewise, if there is no fresh Toro to be found, they will not serve you old fish. The quality of the sushi is always very good. And, if you're looking for a Japanese style steak, that's in the menu as well.... More

Going here is always a treat. Come at lunch time for cheaper prices! And, don't skip on desserts, they are really nice. PS: the staff is very friendly and there is a good range of food, from donburi (fish bowls) to sushi and meat dishes.

Surprisingly quiet restaurant on Friday night compared to the bustling places nearby. But thankfully not a sausage in sight. A proper Japanese/Thai menu. Staff speak excellent Japanese/English. Tempura not the finest, but good sushi scallop and salmon. Wine menu ok for a change and interesting to sample some German Pinot-Grigio style wine.

Nico Place, with unexpected, authentic japanese food. Calm place, nice and polite staff. Just a very nice evening.

I have been to Tenno a couple of years back and had a great experience. With that expectation, I dragged my friends there for some authentic Sushi for dinner last month and it was quite a disappointment. The portions got smaller, the price did not seem to fit and the taste wasn't as impressive.

We were there for dinner. 15 minutes after ordering one of two offered Italien white wines they discovered it was out. Then food came. I explicitely ordered a side salat with my fish - discovering that the same salat was the side with the fish (would have been worth mentioning before). With the beaf only onions came as side -... My wife & I dropped in at random after a long day's sightseeing in Munich & it was a welcome relief to be greeted with grace & a smile after the gruff service in the usual German restaurants. The selection of food & drink is wide and the fish curry and duck that we ordered were served in good time.... More

We visited on the weekend, the restaurant did not seem overly busy but the wait was epic. Drinks about 30 minutes, starter about an hour and main course was served close to two hours after we sat down. What arrived what not bad but did not reflect the prices charged. My salmon was farmed salmon and overcooked. Somebody else had... More

Tenno is a Japanese/Thai restaurant reachable by S-Bahn (Isartor) or U-Bahn (Fraunhoferstraße). The restaurant is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The (multi-lingual) service is also very friendly. A definite recommendation for lunch at about €20/head or dinner for €60/head including drinks. Tenno can also accomodate larger groups and can be effectively be divided into two parts.
