This place totally shocked. We were taken here by my godmother who lives in Nuremberg and it was just amazing. The food was probably one of the best of any restaurant I have ever been to, far better than most of the average offerings in the UK. The food was so fresh, generous portions and arrived in respectable time. The... More

We actually went here both nights we were in Nuremberg. It's very slightly off the main drag but only by a couple of minutes walk. The menu is all in German so take your dictionary. The lady waiting on will not fawn over you BUT The food is excellent, struck me as proper German, not a burger in sight The... More

I found this place thanks to tripadvisor and I was a little bit worried with these pictures I saw. However, it was worthy to go. i went for dinner and lunch because it was the best quality/price in old town. Waiter talks czech/german and a little bit of english but they are polite and thoughful.

A nice cosy restaurant on a quiet location just within the city walls of Nuremberg, that not only serves local dishes from Franken, but also dishes from Bohemia. Which are very tasty and not expensive. Although the place was busy, service was good and we didn't have to wait long for the food. So a great place! We also had... More

From the outside Zum Schwanlein didn't look promising, but the food was very good and very cheap. We had local specialities like chicken liver salat, schnitzel wrapped in potato pancake, and small sausages on sauerkraut. The waitress was no nonsense and swift. They don't take credit cards, but bring those cash and spend them there. You won't regret.

This is a simple, honest place with basic but tasty food at good prices, served by no-nonsense waiting staff who don't waste time on friendly (and usually unwanted) chit chat. Half a dozen tasty sausages and excellent potato pancakes loaded with very good sauerkraut for under 6 Euro has got to be good value. Good range of beers and very... More

I want to like this restaurant, it's small quite, clean. Three of the top choices for me, the food was well prepared, but the chef on the day I visited used to much salt for my taste. The goulash was everything a goulash should be warm rich and filling with wonderful dumplings to soak up the sauce. If only it... More

Four of us just ate dinner. Five beers and four entrees totaled €48. Very nice sized portions. English menus are available. No credit cards accepted. Lots of traditional German and several Czech dishes. Uber casual.

We happened on this place by accident after parking our car in the Hotel Victoria parking garage which is down the street from the hotel, and across the street from Zum Schwanlein. It was a long day and we were tired from walking, and were in the mood for something light to eat. I'm glad we stopped in. We ordered two... More

Ate here twice during a recent stay in Nuremberg - served by two different ladies and contrary to the previous review - no screaming! In fact both ladies were working extremely hard and efficiently - compliments to them them. This restaurant is located in a quiet area just within the city walls. Hence their prices are lower than some of... More
