Slightly away from the main trail in the pretty canal area. The main bar is quite intimate but packed with character - nice wine and great sausages as would be expected definitely worth dropping in

First night in Nuremberg... our plane arrived quite late so we booked a table online just before arriving so we knew we had someone to eat. So glad we picked this place as our first experience of Nuremberg. Rustic cosy feel to the place... lots of wood carving decorations which added to the charm. We ordered beers and wine... all... As you get inside an historical wonder opens to your eyes. All is exactly as it was. All those wooden carved miniatures are stunning. The view over the river is breathless. Food is typical from this side of Germany, Good and affordable. Bier is a must. Definitely the best place and the best experience downtown in Nuernberg.

We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we went back more than once. Amazing waiter and his wife worked there. His name is Michael and he was so friendly and was so interested in us that it made us feel right at home. Food was amazing as well.

Tucked away on the small island, this restaurant is tiny, filled with tankards and heavy wooden furniture, a very authentic setting for a great, rustic, hearty meal! We wanted to try local dishes, so we ordered a goulash, some Nuremberg sausage in onion and vinegar broth, and some fried sausage with potato salad. All were hearty portions of delicious food.... Tasty, excellent interior, very good service. Inexpensive and delicious. Lots of interesting stuff on the walls, which can be seen for a long time))))

Great place for local cuisine. Highly recommend the Barbarossa platter consisting of 3 types of local Sausage from neuremberg and weissbier. Staff is extremely friendly and added to the overall experience. Authentic interior full of antiques and unusual design.

Stumbled across this place but complete accident as is often the way to find the best places to eat. Not entirely sure why this isn't further up the Trip advisor rankings! The food was great, the beer was great, the surroundings were cosy and traditionally Bavarian and the service was second to none! Michael spoke exceptional English, was very friendly,... More

What a nice place to find which will warm you up and make you welcome, staff were friendly and spoke very good English with a good sense of humour. Food looked very good although we didn't eat there, we returned again to this place during our short stay in the area. I do recommend this place.

Try the pork shoulder or the Nuremberg bratwurst! Very intimate and good service, definitely a must-visit.
