This restaurant doesn't look like much from the street, but you go through a very short door, and then a very steep staircase to the cellar. It's actually a medieval beer cellar! It's very nice and cozy, and the food is some of the best that I've had in Nürnberg. My wife had Rouladen, and I had the pork shoulder.... More

What a lovely place, the food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant itself is below street level in a Keller. Portions were huge. Highly recommend

We walked into the Paulaner Brauhaus to eat but they were full, so we luckily discovered Der Nassauer Keller. We'd walked past 6 times already and hadn't seen the tiny door into the restaurant. What a find!. The setting and architecture is worth a visit alone so the food had to be good to complement the surroundings. And it was.... More

Good German food in an interesting, medieval atmosphere. The entrance door is rather low, so watch your head, and a stair leads down into the cellar, where the restaurant is. Not recommended with prams or wheelchairs. Downstairs you dine between medieval armor, they serve good traditional German food and the service was fast and friendly. We enjoyed the atmosphere.

Great place which you could easily miss as it's underground with just 2 little doors on the outside but definitely worth a visit. The food was great for all 4 of us and the staff were lovely. Watch your head when going up the stairs though!

We were tired from a walking tour of old Town and the press of people at the Markt, we were looking for a place to have a late lunch that wasn't crowded. Just off the main pedestrian way, we spotted a low door with a couple of small signs for the Keller. Down a long set of stairs and low... More

A lovely surprise find for our dinner tonight! We loved the middle-ages atmosphere of the Monchshof! With its stone-vaulted cellar, knight's suit of armour and it still felt cozy. We (2 of us) enjoyed the Schweinspiess with bacon and roschti as well as the smoked salmon dish with plenty of salad and roschti. A beautiful Apfelstrudel for dessert topped off a... More

You start by going down a low roof set of stairs. The selection of food is unbelievable. I had escargot for an appetizer and venison for my main meal. Both were fantastic.
