This cute little place really does cook up some of the most excellent German sausage I've had! Also fun to visit to say you've been to the "world's oldest restaurant." There's allegedly been an eatery in this spot since 1146, and the family that currently runs it took over the premises in 1806. Pretty cool background for a quick snack... More

This is authentic as authentic gets. This place is so historic and adorable. Right on the river, there is an indoor and outdoor eating area. It was January when I ate there so we ate inside. When you walk in, you have to get through the kitchen to find dining area. The indoor dining area is teeny tiny. So small.... More

We stopped there during a walk in the downtown. You can have a sausade "hot dog" with sauerkrat and sit by the river. Amazing atmosphere!

This place has the staple sausage plate with kraut that you are looking for! Don't forget to get the sweet mustard to go with it and a good German beer to wash it down. If you come in the summer, there are a lot of tables outside, but if you are here in the evening or winter, note that there... More

This is a nice, casual place that grills sausages over an open fire, and serves authentic Bavarian food. You can sit down here, or outside on the patio near the river, or across the patio at another seating area. Waiters cross the patio with hot food picked up from the grill and delivered to the other seating area. It was... More

While on a river cruise we were given vouchers for lunch at Wurstkuchl, and to be honest, we weren't expecting much. Well we were wrong! Since we had never had "good" sauerkraut, we didn't know what to expect, now we do. The food was wonderful and so was the service. If your in Regensburg, don't miss the opportunity to eat... More

Had an hour before going in a tour of the Regensburg Danube by boat. Our beers and food took time to arrive so give at least an hour and fifteen minutes not just an hour as we did . We were rushing. Nicely made on BBQ and you know washed down with a local Weizen beer, very good. Traditional oldest... More

And then had to go back for a 2nd one. You can eat inside, or take to go. Very charming, and was decorated for Christmas.
