After checking others suggestions on TripAdvisor i decided to visit this restaurant. Very friendly atmosphere and smiling waiters. I ordered the pork platter, it wasn't tendre and juicy as mentioned in the menu but was quite decent. However portions are not enough and should be bigger for the price i paid. On another hand, the waiter suggested a home made... More

Schwarzvaldstuben is an excellent example of Berlin's newly discovered love affair with south German food and beer. Great beers on tap incl Rothaus and Augustiner Helles and really delicious food (my personal favourite is either the Flammkuchen with black pudding or the Gebratene Maultaschen), I've brought all sorts of people here and never failed to be impressed. The staff are... More

I enjoyed the food here. Portion size was great, just enough but not so much i felt overful. I would dine here again. We had the pork escalope and pork with cabbage. The starter we had was the mixed platter and that was really good. We had beer to go with our meal. We also had the pancake to finish... More

We popped in for supper at 6.30 and grabbed the last little table for two. It's such a welcoming little place. Friendly staff, quirky decor and great German food. Nice mix of people too. A lot of couples, locals who turned up to eat alone, young groups of friends. The service is not quick, but if you enjoy a relaxed... More

This was a group business dinner - 12 people. We were seated at a long table in the back, making us feel like we had our own private dining area. The food was very good, staff very efficient and attentive.

This a cosy, traditional place and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Great service. Food was delicious and reasonably priced and the place had a lovely atmosphere with a mix of locals and visitors. One of my favourite places we ate while in Berlin.

The waitress wasn't kind and welcoming at all! Didn't thank us and didn't even say goodbye. They've put water in our wine. The food wasn't great for the price. Won't go over there ever again, don't recommend it and it seams that they don't like tourists.

A truly nice place for a pit stop. Cosy and traditional in a merry blend. Stop by and enjoy good food and a proper selection of good beers. Must be a very poular place, locals and tourists came and went continuously. Enjoy. Sendt fra min iPad

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
