Loved the food, and the waiter was wonderful. Highly recommend to eat here! The fermented taste of the injera, combined with amazingly spiced stews is the perfect mix.

The food was fabulous (the menu descriptions didn't do it justice at all) and the fact that we only ate with our hands really made it so memorable. Everyone I went there with was really impressed with the quality of the food and grateful for the experience. If you fancy something a bit different, then this is a great choice!

We were 4 people who chose this place, as we have been travelling in Ethiopia. We find the food good - typically Ethiopian (though the injira is less leavened than in Ethiopia) the atmosphere great, and reasonable prices. We recommend.

This place is fantastic if you like Ethiopian food, it felt really authentic to me! We had a veg platter for two and the food is spectacular, especially the injera. It's a small place, and they light some sort of incense stick to give it an authentic feel. It's only open from 4pm onward, so keep that in mind.

I have happily eaten here for trying something different. Atmosphere very original and cosy. Owner/staff very friendly, smiley and polite. Food good, but for what it was for me could be a bit cheaper, however let's say we paid in great atmosphere.

Have been to another Ethiopian place in Berlin: was not impressed. This place, Bejte, is excellent. Loved it. My mother's first taste of such food: she loved it. Prices are reasonable. The ambience is great. There were other diners. All in all, highly recommended.

Our daughter had been to a different Ethiopian restaurant in Berlin, and recommended the food. It's a lovely little place, with interesting decoration. The two staff were friendly, the man spoke English, the lady didn't. We ordered what appeared to be a typical dish: a large sourdough pancake with dollops of different food on it. It came after an acceptable... More

On jan 2 without any prior reservation we bumped into this restaurant and we had a good value for money meal with meat and vegan food and a bottle of wine for less than 35 euros. Nice service, friendly crowd.

It felt like being home when you are away. Not quite perfect, but really welcoming. Staff treated us with warmth, all others customers seemed to be smiling. The food was fantastic, full of unexpected flavours, literally finger licking tasty. I didn't want to leave.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
