We arrived literally just as the place opened- we had some time to kill before heading to the airport, and I was determined to try this cafe before we left- it was really close to the hotel. On entering, we were seated immediately and I was able to leisurely peruse the menu. It was quite a while before our order... More

What can you really say, great ice cream and waffles. I would like to thank this venue as they were closing up but allowed me to quickly chose an ice and cream and heated a waffle (had been craving one all day)

This is a nice coffee shop with ice-cream parlour attached. The People are friendly, but fascinatingly slow so to speak. Since it was winter time with a smaller selection of Icecream flavours, I went to the other side of the cafe and checked what icecreams they offer, and how low the supply was - did not want to order the... That was really crazy! Firstly, the "ice cream girl" looked very nice, she told us to sit down if we don'T want to T.A. , that there's a table service. We were waiting i think long time and the waiter didn't even come to give us menu or ask us.. We were running out of time so we wanted to... More

To be true we only got coffee here a couple of time - to get out of the rain and to chill between our targets of the day. But the coffee was so good.

Here is my feedback on about 10 visits over the past 4-5 years: If you walk up to the counter and ask for ice cream to go, you'll get it fairly promptly and with no problems. You'll be banned from eating it at their tables but that said the square a few meters away has lots of seating benches. If... More

This is located at Hackscher Markt, so always fairly full especially the tables outside. Still, the ice cream is very tasty and worth it even if it is pricey at around 9 euro for a dessert. Choosing one of their set offerings seems to be slightly cheaper than putting together something yourself.

We were waiting to be seated for a while, then sat down at a dirty table. Staff was chatting around. Finally a young lady came to us to take our order. We asked her to remove the leftovers of the previous guests and clean the dirty table first, so she left .... then nothing happened for another 10 minutes ...... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
