Stopped for a quick dinner and a couple of pints. Charming local with a varied range of german beers and traditional german food. Friendly staff and decent music provide a relaxed atmosphere

Stumbled across Hirsch while on our way to a nearby restaurant... so good we called again on the way back... then stumbled over to the Tram. A superb range of beers on tap and by the bottle... at what I think is staggeringly low prices. The guy serving us said it was typical of Berlin... but based on my experience... More

The sign did it job and enticed us inside this cosy little backstreet bar. Inside from the cold the friendly barman gave us a couple of his tips and the specialties of he house which proved very tasty and refreshing. Definitely worth a visit.

We came here for a quick and easy meal for our last night in Berlin. Food and drink is very cheap and very good. I had the cheese Spätzle and my husband had the Maultaschen with gravy, both were tasty and hearty meals that really hit the spot. Hirsch has a very relaxed vibe and the bar tender speaks very... Staff were friendly and funny with a great atmosphere. We got a schnitzel with spatz and a schnitzel with potato salad, both fantastic. Beer suggestions were also excellent and price was good only 25 EUR for dinner and 2 drinks each. We both walked out saying we were so glad we ate there, made our trip.

Where staying just in front of this bar and went there for dinner and beers and aside from having a great time the dinner ended up quite inexpensive. Highly recommended if you just want a traditional cheap meal

We came here for a traditional German dinner, that's exactly what we got. Don't expect fine dining, but a hearty meal at a great price. really cheap drinks, helpful staff and great atmosphere.

Stayed 3 days in Berlin and 2 nights here. What can I say.... great food and drink at a low cost and real fun staff! Priceless, made our trip great (3 ladies celebrating a 40th birthday). Don't think the smell from the smoking room will ever wash out, though... stay in the non-smoking areas only! Absolutely worth a visit :-)

Thank Tigerpeluche

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
