I would suggest you book via email before you visit Berlin as this bar/restaurant is very small and we watched people being turned away. Run by only 2 people front of house they are kept very busy but are friendly and attentive. The menu is traditional german food and lots of beer! I had the schnitzel with fried potatos which... The food was great! It is a nice restaurant to try German traditional food. Beer also taste perfect. I highly recommend black beer (Pauliner).

Went with my boyfriend twice to this place and would definitely go again. I was a little concerned about the wait time when we entered due to its small size and it being packed, but we were sat down by friendly staff, more so given that we don't speak much German. Food came out quick and was very tasty. And... More

Went to this bar for dinner twice on our 1 week stay in Berlin. It's not bad! My partner and I had nice meals, nice wine and nice beer. The staff were very friendly. I'd go again.

We had dinner here and enjoyed cod fillet & fried potatoes and meatballs and rice. Both were lovely and the Berliner beer complemented them. There are only about 30 covers and a bar in the cosy premises and this helps create a great atmosphere. The service is friendly & polite and the price was very good at 50 Euros which... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
