Very friendly staff. Handed a serviette for my sniffles as it was freezing outside! Lovely touch. There was no veal schnitzel on the menu but made one which was really good -even though more expensive than the pork. Very pleasant atmosphere and ambience.

Ate here on a recent trip to Berlin. We tried it out because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor but I wasn't sure what to make of it when we arrived as we were the only people in the restaurant! Perhaps lacking a bit of atmosphere because of this. However our meal was lovely and the staff were really friendly.... More

Food was great and service was fun. No spoilers but try order a large beer for a man and small one for your lady 😊

It was a bit difficult to find but worth the walk. Food and wine were fine, and the price level reasonable. Sauerkraut was excellent. Also vegetarian was able to find a choice. Service is very kind and atmosphere relaxed.

Great food, great service, and great beer and wine selection. The staff is very polite and make all feel welcome. Portions were huge, and the food taste and quality was impressive. I hope to come back some day. I definitely recommend this little restaurant. P.S. you can even or a 2 litre glass boot of beer if you are up... More

Popped in here a couple of times for beers on a recent visit to Berlin, and loved it. Staff are very friendly and it has a nice cosy atmosphere. We ate dinner here on our last night. Menu has a good selection of German cuisine, and also does German tapas. The various schintzel on offer was really good and would... More

Good food and very friendly staff. It is across the bridge from Museum Island, so makes a great convenient place for a meal break in between museums. The lunch specials are a real deal and include beer.

Lovely restaurant with good German food, everything was reasonably priced and the staff spoke some English, service was a little slow but it was busy so it wasn't an issue

Found this place after a disastrous attempt in Don Angelo down the road. Great friendly staff, awesome tasty food and drinks into the late evening with a good laugh with the staff.

Thank Ray H

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
