If you are around Bergmannstraße in Kreuzberg, you should definitely visit Good Morning Vietnam. It is in a typical Berlin backyard, located in an unusal glass steel building. You can sit on the rooftop terrace in the summer and sit behind the huge glass windows when it's colder. The food is really good, freshly made and the rolls are amazing.

An accidental find one evening when trying to find somewhere to eat. The place was crowded with people but a place was swiftly found for me and my friend. There are menus in English and a good selection of Vietnamese foods cooked well and very reasonably priced. The service is friendly and attentive and the décor muted and dark which... More

Restaurant is located in a courtyard, and offers a great rooftop balcony. The cocktails were really well presented and tasted just as good. We got two of the weekly specials, which were really tasty. The spring rolls are great too. For two of us we ate for 35€.

I seldom lay have Vietnamese food, so I can't really judge if the dishes are done the way they should be done, but in general the food was tasty and well presented. I would go again if I'm not having other choices, as I prefer other types of cuisine The staff was very attentive.

I go there because I love the food and all they offer for very little money. You sit on bench-like things, but that is okay for me. The waiters can be okay or really terrible - I ignore that or really tell them off, that helps. I know that if good service is your top priority you will hate it.... More

I've been to this restaurant a couple times before, and it's been fine, even quite good, but this last Friday will undoubtedly be the last. I'm normally extremely reluctant to write negative reviews, but without feedback to the restaurant, it's likely to happen again to someone else, a circumstance for which I would then carry some share of the blame... Typical vietnamian cuisine. The prices are low, the quality is high. The public is nice. If you want to have a good lunch during the summer, on the terrace, do not hesitate!

The food was really good and the location incredible. Although the quantity was huge and watch out for the drink because unlike the food, they are not cheap.

I went with friends to this restaurant to have dinner, the duck was dry and we complained with the waiter, and said that we would not pay for the dish. He said "ok, we will try to make it better next time". We paid the bill and when we left we were at the front of the restaurant when I... More

We've been here two times with friends. The food is really good, well presented and light. The place looks good too, and it's not expensive. If you expect Hamy's prices then it's something else. The only negative thing is a certain waitress that keeps being rude and rude every time. The second time we went she told us, after we... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
