Good service, made to feel welcome. Food was top drawer, i had turnip soup then goose. Our waiter was a photographer and gave us a copy of his book! Traditional Austrian, enjoyed.

Great atmosphere, great meal. It is very simple place with the post-war interior, that will not impress you. But the atmosphere is so great, so unusual, you are like in an old Italian movie. And the meal is really delicious: Austrian soup, duck, home-made pasta and schnitzel are amazing

The restaurant serves pretty much what it should, Austrian specialties that are presented just like in Wien. So the food is ok. The service is twofold - to say the least. On the other hand, the full bearded server was friendly at first, but as more people came in, he obviously started to loose his nerve. He got unattentive and... More

What a super efficient and friendly waitress! She is worth all praise! Some of us had schnitzel which was good and crispy but the meat somewhat dry compared to earlier meals. One of us had the chicken which was ok but a bit dry and came with a strong horseradish sauce which was a bit awkward. The Pumpkin dessert was... More

Don't let your credit/debit card get out of your sight. I gave my debit card to the owner/chef and unbeknownst to me he put through the cost of the meal PLUS an extra tip for himself. I only discovered the second debit when I next looked at my bank account. The schnitzel was "so-so" The restaurant was empty. I noticed... More

I had a pancake soup and a goulash , absolutely too salted and the meat was so dry . I explained it to the waitress and they ended up offering me a coffee ...i would have preferred a discount on the quite expensive bill . Really a pity because the place is very nice . During my dinner i saw... More

Food comes unnervingly quickly. Huge schnitzel that has virtually no flavour. I will not visit again. Waiter was friendly however.

The service was top notch. The food was great - we ended up going there twice. Good value for the money. I would go back to this place again.

We were looking for a place to eat before we went to the opera and our friend suggested Wiener Beisl. We all chose Wiener Schnitzel and were astounded by the portion! It literally was hanging over the edge of the dinner plate. Offered up with a potato salad and a cucumber salad. It was tender, tasty and fresh. In short... More

The service was not pleasant. Slow, non-friendly. The food not special. Huge schnitzel, but cold and hard. Can avoid, unless hi grey and all other places are closed.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
