When you love true Japanese Ramen soup, you know how hard it is to find an authentic yet simple place without all that fanciness of European Asian cuisine and chichi. Well here you got it. It's authentic, it's like in Japan it's simple and made with awesome quality food. Will be back soon.

With a quaint restaurant and open kitchen - Cocolo feels cozy and provides a nice environment to dine. Both the Waitresses & Chefs were polite and the gyoza and ramen were delicious. Also, do try their homemade lemonade. It's one of the better ramen joints I've been to outside Japan. I'd recommend going early so that you don't have to... More

We came upon Cocolo Ramen by chance on a brisk late night walk in search of a good meal. It was tiny and crowded and we were immediately drawn in by the vibe. I ordered the popular pork belly ramen and my husband the miso with a side of chicken; both were excellent. So was the green tea ice cream... More

Visited once and enjoyed the food and fast service. Visited a second time because it's local and after being seated no order was taken. They then tried to give us food we hadn't ordered, and after being told that we hadn't ordered they still took another 5 minutes to take our order. Food was quick although not as good as... More

We visited one Saturday evening in January - it was freezing outside and this was the perfect warming dinner we had in mind. The restaurant was full and we were very surprised to be sat down immediately. It's always a good sign when a place is full. The decor and atmosphere were perfect. Having recently just travelled to Japan and... More

And I sure am glad I went. I normally only write hotel reviews when I travel, but after eating dinner here, I just had to reconfirm all the other reviews. This is a very small ramenbar and I arrived around 1830 and the place was full. I did get a seat at the bar itself which seats about 10. There... More

There is a reason why people love Ramen, and in this place they do know how to make it. The place is small so you might need to wait but it is worth it.

My friend and I waited a good 40 mins before we got in, which was expected because I've heard of the notorious lines. The restaurant itself is very small and cosy. The food is delicious, I ordered the wantan soup and the broth was flavoursome as was the wantons. They were filled with prawns and it was quality. My friend... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
