Specializes in steaks and grilled meats. The food was marvelous. Beef and pork were very tender with lovely flavours. A good salad bar too. Friendly and helpful staff.

On our first night in Berlin, four of us had dinner here. The server was friendly and attentive. Nice decor. We all had steaks. 180g fillet is €19.90. As we know, there is no consistency between chefs about cooking steaks. In this place, they present you with a picture of steaks at various levels of cooking! Then they suggest that... More

Visited with my husband during our trip to Berlin in Jan 2017 on a Sunday lunchtime. It wasn't too busy and we were served drinks and food fairly swiftly. I had the steak skewer and my partner the ribs. Both were beautifully cooked and presented, the prices are very reasonable too considering the quality of the steak (we'd looked at... More

I was in Berlin.. It was ridiculously cold, and I was hungry and wanted a steak.. Last time in this city I was recommended the Grill Royal.. and was bitterly disappointed. Keen not to repeat such an overpriced mistake I went the 100 meters down the road to the Maredo.. First time in one of these and it is as... More

Welcomed and served enthusiastically by a wonderful team. The food was reasonably priced and an excellent standard. Eager to cater to vegetarian needs I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Worth going here for rhe steaks. Great food, fairly priced. Attentive staff, and nice beers. Went with a family of five and it worked out great.

I invite my family and a friend of mine for dinner to Maredo, since my friend knew that Maredo actually has good Steaks. (On that evening she has also regret her recommend). We all three ate a full menu and afterwards wanted to have coffee on the terrace and moved our all belongings with us and after we already paid... More

I have order spare ribs at Maredo Friedrichstraße. The service appeared rather unmotivated to me. The ribs were partly burned but served nonetheless. The unburned parts were tasty. But I think there are other options in the area where you get more value for your money.

In a typically British way, I hate to complain, or leave a bad review, be it a hotel restaurant, or anything else. However the service I failed to receive here this evening has left me no choice but to suggest this place is best avoided. The place is very nice and modern, the lady I took to be the manageress... Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
