Loved the interior and the music selection here makes you feel like you on another planet in Berlin lol. Not to forget the staff were very professional and knows when to come ask for drinks etc. the food is tasty and the chicken well spiced. I'll definitely recommend the restaurant good for all

if you visit berlin, you can find better places, service is slow and not friendly, and the food is, for its high price not very appealing, personally, my beef tartare was just about 75 g of the 150 promised beef with another 75 g of sour cream sauce and ugly arranged salad for more than 16€.

Nice service, good bbq sauce, cool place in central berlin, with a street market and calm atmosphere...

Been there for coffee and dinner next night. The coffee and the hot chocolate my son took were really tasty and well prepared. Service was fast and effective both times we were there and I propably tasted the best steak I've ever had. Prices are a little high but worth the experience.

Having walked around Berlin for a day already, we could tell that Maredo was a chain restaurant similar to TGI Friday's or Harvesters in the UK. The food was good, we opted for the lunch time special offer as we weren't so hungry but still wanted something warm to eat. Price was good, however there was a bit of a... More

Ate lunch here and had the brioche burger with fries. It was nice to be asked how we wanted it cooked so that's a positive. Likewise, the burger itself was very nice. The only disappointment was the chips. They were covered in sea salt so were difficult to eat sometimes. Service was very good though and the prices were reasonable.... More

My wife and I had lunch here midweek. The restaurant was fairly busy but our drinks were served very quickly and we placed our food order soon afterwards. The self-service salad bar had an extensive choice of fresh fare to accompany the tasty steaks.

My wife & I had a very pleasant dinner & we found the waiting staff to be very helpful & friendly considering they were fairly busy. The steak I had was cooked to my liking & was very tender and my wife had the schnitzel which was also good. Considering the location of the restaurant we thought that the prices... More

We had a look at the other restaurants around Hackescher Markt before deciding on Maredo - the prices seemed to be similar in all of the other options. We ate burger and steak and they were both great quality and good value for money. It was early evening when we visited and there were some entertainers playing music in the... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
