This was our second visit. Good service, food prices and red wine. We will return. We also like the informal and warm atmosphere.

Very well served and i really loved the variety of grilled meat. The Turkish house wine was good and the only thing between a four and a five star was the feeling of being rushed. It was an american style speed of serving. So we were out very quickly. The dinner was very good value for price!

Went there on recommendation from travel guide. Mezze was good but the rest of the meal was below average. The chicken cis tasted as if it had been fried rather than grilled and was so salty i could not eat it.

We went here on the basis of many recommendations in travel guides as well as trip advisor. We weren't disappointed but felt that we have had as good Turkish food elsewhere for less. I wouldn't go seeking this spot out in particular--if you are in the area, fine. No credit cards.

A fantastic restaurant - it's going on my top ten list! We stayed just around the corner and had dinner at there three times. The food is seriously delicious. We had the meze platter a couple of times and the crispy puff pastry was divine. We had the mixed seafood and a pasta the second night and that was also... More

Great Service, Great middle eastern food with fusion touches. Easy to find close to the metro. Try the Kunefe at the end. Maybe the best I have ever eaten.

First off, the restaurant has a traditional Italian feel in terms of decour despite serving Turkish food. The drinks orders were taken quickly by a efficient waiter, who was also kind enough to stabilise our table without us asking him to (as it was wobbling a little). Food and drink are very affordable. The mains (we had a veggie mix... More

The food was good but we were treated poorly by the service: the waiter forgot one of our orders and basically ignored us for a while until we had to remind him and then be served half an hour later, when we were not hungry anymore and the vegetables were raw (cooked to fast). Nobody apologized at all, on the... More

This was a great Turkish restaurant in Kreuzberg. You need a reservation for the evening. We have been to Istanbul and the menu was reminiscent of that. I had the lamb with eggplant which was so delicious. It is not a fancy restaurant, very economical. They do not take credit cards.

A slight departure from the average Greek restaurant, defne has a quaint, cosy atmosphere and quality food that make for a great dining experience. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked and our friends enjoyed the sea bass and kebab plate, which were both perfectly cooked and well presented.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
