Enjoyed our dinner. Escargots was not perfect. Our main courses were good. Admosphere with other customers was very nice. It was too busy for the servers to pay adequate attention to the clients. Value for money!

Three of us out of a group of four decided on the menu of the day and we liked the choice and the quality. It was well balanced ,perfectly ,timely served by the staff that also recommended a perfect wine to go with our meal. Apart from being a intimate well decorated place it also gives off the French feeling... More

This is a French inspired restaurant or brasserie with a great location by the Spree. The menu is reasonably varied and the atmosphere and interior very cosy. Attentive service staff and an OK wine list.

A party of four (two newcomers to the city) we much enjoyed sitting outside in the autumn sun beside the Spree, served by an attractive, lively and English-speaking waitress - but, the food was very middling in quality: microwaved chicken, awful blood sausage, okay beef tartare and wine. Maybe this menu is too big for the catering: fewer dishes better... More

Four of us all enjoyed our meals to varying degrees with two saying 5 stars and two only 3 stars so I guess it depends what you order. The service was first class though and the setting by the river is very nice. I would say a good solid choice when in Berlin !

What a place to enjoy a drink. We didn't eat but I wish we had. If you want to feel special then that is the service you receive. I saw the food and wanted to drool. I think that if you are wanting a special meal in Berlin then this could be the place

This was recommended to us by our hotel. The food was quite good. We have the '3 plates' menu (appetizer/main course/dessert" prix fixe by any other name) and hab lobster bisque, lobster pasta, and profiteroles. Very tasty. We didn't have the service problems or waits mentioned earlier. Our waiter was very attentive, and the

We ate here late on Monday evening and service was shocking, took 20 minutes to get the wrong size of beer and glass of house wine. Struggling to serve s large group but fish soup and coq au vin excellent. We liked the location and returned for farewell lunch on Wednesday. Much improved service and good lobster soup and fine... My partner and I visited this restaurant with high expectations. Unfortunately, we left after close to 20 minutes, without being offered so much as a glass of water. After several attempts, we finally managed to ask our waiter when could we expect to be served tonight, to which he cantankerously brushed our question aside pronouncing: "can't you see how busy... Description
Vive la France - at the Schiffbauerdamm.
Gourmets and fans of the French cuisine are pampered by the Brasserie Ganymed on the highest culinary standards. In former times, Bert Brecht and Helene Weigel stopped here to enjoy the cooking and the authentic Parisian air. The dishes are prepared with fresh, regional products and special French delicacies; the waiters celebrate flambeing, carving and filleting in front of the guests. On hot days and warm summer nights, be sure to secure a place on the Spree Terrace.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
