There are few Italian restaurants outside of Italy which explore for their guests the full range of Italian cooking . Sale e Tabacchi is one of them. It is unique in Berlin and perhaps most everywhere in its ability to combine the standard dishes of...More

Went after a long day sightseeing having seen it recommended in Rough Guide and being near my hotel. Hit and miss service. Arrived just before another man and he was seen first-then was ushered to the back of the restaurant but not told precisely where...More

In the area of the Friedrichstrasse there are several Italian and Italian style or orientated restaurants. Some real several are copycats. This one appears to be an authentic one. So the expectations are high and I ll try some dishes that are easy to divide...More

We loved this place! Great atmosphere and great food. The Seared Tuna with Seaweed was to die for. The pasta was thin and velvety. Desserts delish. And, the wine - excellent! Our waiter, Angelo, couldn't have been more helpful. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent food, great service!! Truly authentic feeling. We ate a three course meal, had a bottle of wine. Price level was reasonable.

The 10% tips requested as if it was an obligation (with the waiter coming and asking why we're not paying that amount and, of course, requesting it to be paid in cash) is not what we were expecting to finish the evening. Even if the...More

Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can
both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central
neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the
1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around
Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s,
rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a
carefree life here. An old hospital even became a
hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today
