Had lunch here when on a Berlin bike tour. Servings were large, the beer was cold, prices were reasonable and it was all part of the cultural challenge to try and figure out what was on the menu (didn't seem to be an English menu available). Enjoyable.

It's a very typical Beer Garden: come in, order food and beer and let the person know which table are you sitting in (self-pick). Downsides: 1. To get to this place you will probably have to walk next to some homeless guys sleeping at the edges of the Tiergarten. 2. No English menu. I guess this is part of the... More

Went there for a business dinner because it was near our hotel with 20 people. The building it self from outside it doesn't look nice. But the food as well as the service we experienced was excellent. The interior was quiet topical Berlin style. The food is changing and sessional orientated.

Great place to enjoy a beer, your brunch, lunch or snack with a beer or just a coffee and watch the boats go by on the canal. Great outdoor areas

This is popular as a stopover either to or from a visit to the zoo or perhaps after a long walk in the Tiergarten. They serve beers in bottles and draft beers in large steins. Food is distinctly country German and includes the traditional sausages and pork knuckle. Orders are taken at the counter but service is fast and efficient.

A rollicking biergarten on the canal in the Tiergarten. What could be bad? Fresh cold beer in a large glass! They also have some food and big pretzels. Gotta have a big pretzel with your big bier! There is plenty of seating at long tables, some on the water. You get what you want at a window, sit and enjoy.... More

Discovered deep within the Tiergarten and perched on a canal - despite being a tourist magnet - this beer garden restaurant is charming, device is brisk, reasonably affordable and the food is functionally pub standard. It's good, just not great. The BBQ mix platter is pretty good as is the draft beers. The big attraction is without question it's scenic... More

Biergarten wanna be. I am aquinted with the traditional german food but here you can find it some how "enhanced". Not bad if you do not have high expectations. A bit expensive for the zone and quality.

A great beergarden, in lush settings next to the Zoo, the Bahnhof and the Tiergarten. Fun with friends, great beer, reasonable priced platters and if you can sit next to the look, a view on the spree ships touring the Landwehr Kanal. Had to come back for a Holunder Schorle with the family the next weekend on a bike tour.... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
