Lots of nice seats outside and a really charming inside reflecting the old east Berlin decor. Traditional German food and beer...we all had duck, dumplings and red cabbage and were very happy!

We had the most delicious Sunday lunch even more so as we discovered it by surprise! Really delicious German inventive cuisine in a very nice area close to the famous Mauerpark flea-market - we were three persons and took three different entrées then main courses and we were eating from each other's plates so delicious it was. On top of... More

Another fine choice during our brief Berlin visit...great traditional German cuisine and very nice atmosphere...and literally around the corner from where we stayed. Would definitely recommend this place and make a return visit.

Wandered up into this really nice part of town on our first evening and ate at Oderquelle. The place is really nicely decorated and the service was excellent. The food is typical German dishes but prepared with a lot of care and slightly more refined than some of the other restaurants serving similar dishes. The portions were so huge we... More

We found this restaraunt by chance after a visit to the Sunday flea market at Mauerpark. Big portions of authentic German food, excellent service, reasonable prices. And the apple strudel and vanilla ice-cream is to die for.

Staying at an Airbnb close by. Wondering where to eat. Touch the little symbol in Oderstraße in the Maps app and up comes this wonderful place. We scrunch through the snow along a sort of Mauerallee and open the door into this cheerful and uncontrivedly German restaurant. Quite busy. We hadn't booked yet we were immediately seated. Delicious and huge... More

Me and a friend came here based on some trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. I had the cod and it was absolutely delicious! And then the apple strudel for pudding which was so tasty. The food and a bottle of wine was such good value and came in at a good price. The service was really good.... More

This restaurant lives up to the reputation. The starters, a handmoulded cheese and three versions of bruschetta, were enough to share. We had the duck and the pork and they were both great, German dishes. The desert, a plum tarte, was perfect to share. We were seated at the back and itwas quite noisy so keep that in mind. It... Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
