In Berlin on business and wanted to eat German cuisine. This restaurant was suggested to me by a friend who is a local. The meal was excellent - one of the best Schnitzels I've ever had - the service was friendly and prompt and the environment was warm and inviting. I'd recommend this to anyone who appreciates good food.

Everything from starter to desert is of high quality and tasteful. The schnitzel is well recommended as well as the goat cheese salad. A large variety of wine and prices are acceptable

We came here for a celebration dinner, since it was just around the corner from our hotel. The interior is stylish with fairly minimal decor and design, but it still feels intimate. We had the three course dinner on offer that night and it was excellent, the starter soup and the dessert especially. I have never had a dessert that... More

Just round the corner from our hotel we just walked in off the street and they managed to fit us in. The menu is very small but the food is very good. Service was very good. Recommend.

We recently enjoyed a most memorable evening at Alpenstueck after receiving a recommendation from our Hotel. we were impressed with the modern but warm interior of the restaurant. We enjoyed some outstanding southern German dishes. The grilled goats cheese entree was a standout. As was the smoked fish with lentils and the house made pasta. The veal schnitzels were finished... Stumbled upon this place looking for dinner in my new neighborhood. This place isn't very big, and tables are seated next to each other. The chef used to work at a Michelin starred restaurant so service, menu and approach to dinner is apparent here. I opted for the winter three course tasting menu for 45€ which included a pumpkin curry... More

After reading the reviews about Alpenstueck and walking past lots of other German restaurants, we decided to give it a try and I have to say the reviews were correct. This place has a refined charm to it however once inside, the ambiance is laid back and the service is excellent. It was easily the best schnitzel I've had in... More

My husband and I had dinner here two nights on a recent trip to Berlin - it was that good. Our hotel (i31) staff recommended it for its schnitzel, and we were not disappointed. The decor was sleek yet welcoming, the staff very friendly and helpful and the food delicious. They make their own bread, so don't pass on it... More

The restaurant is situated in quite and residential part of Mitte district and has nice selection of traditional dishes (schnitzel, fish, seasonal soups ) complemented by local wines. The meal was lovely and memorable, service was also very attentive. I highly recommend this place to someone who is looking for traditional dishes with modern interpretation.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
