Just picked up some bagels for a fast breakfast. The bagels were very dry and must have been a couple of days old. The coffee was acceptable but not great. Looked like a nice place with nice service though. The experience might be totally different when you sit down and take something from the "Fruhstuck" menu.

We ordered two not too complicated plates of breakfast. First we waited 15 minutes til they took our order and took away the last guests dishes that was still on our table. Then we waited more than ONE HOUR to get the food. Nothing wrong with the food, but this was the slowest service I have ever received in the... More

Enjoyed breakfast today nice restaurant friendly staff, good service, good vibe, though I think they struggle with numbers as we had to wait a while. So if you're in a hurry and there's a group in front of you, maybe not, but it is worth the wait. We had the muesli, bagel, croissant, pancakes, and English breakfast and all went... More

This place became my friend's and mine favourite breakfast place in Berlin. It soon became our dinner place as well since we kept coming back. :) The atmosphere is cozy, the food is amazing and they were really more than helpful and understanding regarding my food allergies. I will strongly recommend it!

Impressive budget food menu, perfect for 36 Rooms hostel. Staff could do with developing their beer pouring skills though!

Marx offers breakfast until 5 pm which you can choose from a huge variety of options including nationality typical ones. The ones I tried were big and tasty. Only problem is the temperature in winter, both times I have been there it was pretty cold inside.

The area is so artistic it has a lot of graffiti so you can walk around after you're done . The staff is genuinely nice and helpful. I suggest you go ahead of time because it... More

We stayed close by and ended up visiting Marx four times during our week in Berlin. The staff was everything from great to clueless, but friendly all the time. Sitting outside at the terrace and having a mimosa with the breakfast is nice. They have a good selection of breakfast where to choose from. Highly recommended.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
