A nice traditional Bavarian pub that serves all the food and beer you would expect. Probably an older clientele and a little touristy but pleasant staff and lots of space.

Nothing special. Sweet mustard and only good thing was warm pretzel. Price was arround 6.5 eur. Royal beer is very tasty.

One of my favorite places in Hamburg. Moderately priced priced Bavarian pub dishes with sausages, fried potatoes, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, schnitzel et Cetera. With that comes great selections of beers and wines. Have never had a bad dish in this place. But that is also because I love traditional German food.

Based on Tripadvisor reviews and a healthy hankering for all things Wurst, I walked from my hotel to the Franziskaner and ordered the Würstlplatte auf Sauerkraut. This hearty plate contained a couple Rostbratwürst, Münchener Weißwurst, Bratwürst, and a few more that I don't recall the names of. You have to bring your 'A' game to this because while the first... I ate here on my last of five nights in Hamburg because it was close to my hotel and had excellent reviews on TA. I was not disappointed. I sat at the bar and the barkeeper was terrific. I was going to order sauerbraten but he talked me into one of the seasonal specials, which was cod. I started with... More

A great dinner with a traditional beer and food. You have to go if you want to eat like a bavarian or german!

Stopped on the off chance as I was looking for somewhere to try some different beers. I wasn't disappointed. Being from England, I've tried Lowenbrau before, but never the Dunkel variety. I have to say, the beer tasted fresh and flavoursome. The service here was fantastic and the food, although wasn't sampled, looked great.

This place had a wide variety on the menu I opted for the mixed German meats with mash & sauerkraut and all tasted great. Quick & friendly service in a central location. Would highly recommend trying the apple strudel, delicious.

I have been coming in here for many years and it is always the same. It has the setting of a typical german pub with wooden interior and warm cosy feel and lively atmosphere. The food, which is typical bavarian, is top notch and the Löwenbräu beer takes some beating.

I love Bavarian food and beer and this place in the city centre provided me with exactly what I needed after a long journey. As I was by myself for one night I took a spot on the bar and had a few beers and chatted to the German barman who was very pleasent. I ordered the Schnizel but the... More
