Their cakes are worth the visit alone but it's a bit crowded because it's very popular. In the summertime it's very cozy to sit outside underneath the cute little light bulbs.

I visited a few times since we moved to Frankfurt. During the weekends it takes a bit of time to get served, but they have really nice wine and cakes (the carrot cake!), so it is worth the waiting. Cozy atmosphere.
Travelling from London to Vienna by train in a day involves two changes, a tight one in Brussels and a more leisurely two hours or so in Frankfurt. My inclination was to stay near the station, within reach of departure boards and tannoy announcements but my daughter, being of a more relaxed state of mind, opted to find somewhere characterful... Had a nice iced coffee and chocolate tart Food was nice but the waffle we ordered arrived 5 minutes before everything else.. Waffle was quite expensive compared to the cake ~15 euro for cake, waffle and 2 iced coffees
It's been long 10 years that Maingold offers Frankfurter superb coffee with homemade cakes. The place is decorated as an appartment with lots of old (antique?) sofas, chairs and couches. In summer you can enjoy the little garden outside. In the downtown of Frankfurt and yet very lovely quite and peaceful place weekend afternoons.
Found this lovely place on a night out in Frankfurt, it was open after most other places closed on that Monday night. It has several cosy rooms with an array of seating options, plus an outside area under some shady trees, next to a park. Easily accessible, as it's right on Zeil street. Their drinks menu is wonderfully varied, the... More
This café is located close to Zeil, Frankfurts shopping centre. It has a nice, old fashioned atmosphere, good quality of drinks and food and prices are ok (only thing I am missing is Moroccan mint tea :) ). It is a really good location for having a coffee at a first date ;)

Maingold is at the eastern end of the Zeil. The style is relaxed but chic with a youngish crowd in their 30's. The food is excellent, fresh salads, some pasta dishes etc and it's a great place for couples or friends to get together.
Just around the corner from my hotel and close to Kobstablerwache. Nice, cute, vintage. Homemade cooking, changing menus, always great good, wine, cake and tea Nice employees. Reserved and cozy, love it!!
