The Ratskeller has a menu with Russian/Ukrainian dishes, as well as a German dishes. I tried the zanderfilet with red beet risotto rice. The fish tasted predominantly like olive oil (probably too much oil was used to bake it), and the risotto didn't have a lot of taste. The herbal sauce which came with it was tasty. The dish was... We went to the Ratskeller while they also serve Russian food. The Borsjt and other food was very good. The servant was friendly and the cellar was quiet and cosy, with some bakground music.A good place to be when you love Russian food!

We grabbed a table out the front to have a few beers after a long drive from Bruges. The local Lowenbrau was excellent and really hit the spot. We decided some classic schnitzels would top off a great session and that they did. Lovely German goodness. Just as we finished our meals the heavens opened up and everyone ran for... More

Loved the atmosphere. Great service, great food, great beer and great prices. What's not to like about eating under the city. Staff were fantastic.

Nothing bad, nothing great, nothing to keep me from coming back, and nothing to bring me back other than passing by when hungry.

We visited the delightful, historical city of Trier. When it came time for a meal, we were looking for a place to dine on authentic German offerings. We were attracted by the handsome look of the Ratskeller and the menu display outside was a great help. We dined downstairs in the beautiful cellar. I highly recommend doing that for a... More

The menu was a combination of Russian and German cuisine. Definitely off beat, and the best Russian food I've had. So I'd have to say off-beat but surprisingly good. Lovely building and the cellar is lovely with it's arches.

Ate a lunch of onion and bacon quiche (which was not on the menu, but we spotted someone else eating it) at the outside market area on the square. Food was good, service was quick. Quiche was not hot, barely warm. Waitress said that is how it should be...did not make sense to us.
