Great atmosphere, good service, English translations but not touristy - just get the tram out from the alt stadt and it's very easy.

We had a great meal with their homebrewed Watzkebeer: excellent! The restaurant was part of a beautiful old building where they also had a real oldfashioned ballroom.

Went there for lunch. Had some decent salmon and that's quite impressive. They have some self-brewed beer which is quite nice as well.

Special beer had good taste and smell. Not so sweet and bitter. Knuckle was with beer sauce nice, very crispy skin. One loved must appreciate. Atmosphere looked classic and traditional style.

The Watzke family has three restaurants in Dresden, this one is a little off the beaten trail, but in a grand old building. Food is excellent! Very good prices. Well worth making the trek or drive out to - it has plentiful parking across the street.

I simply love this very traditional brauhaus and biergarten. Sitting outside, enjoying views of the river Elbe with the skyline of Dresden is a wonderful thing, especially while enjoying the delicious, fresh beer from a 5 liter barrel. The food is very good too, with excellent haxe on offer. This place really evokes a sense of tradition, community, civilization. Can... More

The Watzke Ball & Brauhaus was really interesting! It has a wonderful view back up the Elbe River and over the skyline of Dresden. The menu is very German (and good) and the beer is authentic and potable!! We enjoyed our lunch there.

We were on a sentimental tour in Dresden. Our last visits (4) dated form the late 70s and early 80s. It was amazing to see how the city was upgraded. No smell of lignite, no air pollution and a high quality of town-restauration. We visited "Ball und Brauhaus Watzke" with a group of international friends. We were seated inside. It... More

This place is the best beer house in Dresden. With its decoration in an old German style where the atmosphere was awesome. Recommend to come in early otherwise the place will be packed. Outdoor with Elbe river view is nothing can compare to. The food was excellent and various kind of beer you can choose. I gave this place five... More

Though when one looks on a map it appears far outside of town, it is quickly and easily accessible by taking Tram 4 to Altpieschen and walking the short half block to the riverside brewery, beer hall and beer garden. When the weather permits, our preference is to find seats in the beer garden. There are daily specials, and the... More
