It was a great experience, actually it was a lot nicer then the Munich Augustiner, because it was less crowded, and they had all the types of beer from the menu. The weissbier is one of the best I have tried. We were a group of 7 friends and we had a lot of fun here, and I have also... More

Found this place on trip advisor for lunch with my friends. The restaurant is typical german (even the waiters are dressed in traditional clothing), with various german and international foods on the menu. We tried all the soups on the menu-the one with liver dumplings is absolutely exquisite. For the main course we tried the pretzel burger with fries, and... More

If you are after good German food, excellent beer, nice location, decent prices and very good service - this is the place! In the menu you will find all the classics - sausages, pork, beef. But be aware - this food is more Bavarian and Austrian then local Saxon.

Prompt service. Ordered duck (it was a very large portion but a bit tough). Husband ordered pot roast with dumpling and raisin sauce that was delicious.

We visited on a Monday night and were surprised at how busy they were. There are several rooms over 2 levels and a large outside terrace, so there is plenty of seating and if you have to wait it won't be long. We shared a long table with another couple. The food is typical German and is well prepared. Definitely... More

On a cold day this was a very welcome place to visit. It was very good that the menus were in both German and English and so easy to navigate. The food was good if a little tired in the venue and the presentation. A bit expensive but only to be expected near a major attraction.

Went there because of the great reviews. Nothing special really. Only good beer (agustiner). Other than that, ordered 4 dishes, none of them where something to even talk about. Not too bad. But just not a place we would come back neither recommend to anyone. 4 people in the same table, all of us ordered different dishes, none of us... More

While staying in Dresden, we sampled several German restaurants & the Augustiner was one. It was a very busy night, and we had to sit downstairs in the cellar. Still, that contributed to a decent atmosphere. We were happy to see the menus in both German and English and our drink orders got taken fairly quickly. Food order however took... More

A good restaurant with a very good beer augustiner. Near the beer, some typical food, with a quiet good quality. Also the children were satisfaid. Service good and kind. Price in line with the turistic location.

Despite being a brewery from Münich and not from Dresden, if you can do stop by. It is one of at least another 2 brewhouses from Münich in town: Paulaner and HB. Both the beer and food are very good - I saw a lot of germans going there just to have dinner with a beer or 2.

Description
At home in Saxony! Loveably Saxon & Typically Bavarian Under this motto we welcome you daily from 10 am in one of the reconstructed baroque town houses on Neumarkt square in Dresden. Augustiner an der Frauenkirche has space over its three storeys in various lounges that can also be rented out separately. In addition there is room in the outdoor area, an open invitation to experience the pulsating life of one of Europe's most unique cities with a direct view of the Frauenkirche church. Friends of our Augustiner beer can choose between five different beer types, all of which are dispensed fresh from the barrel apart from the wheat beer which is bottled. Accompanying your beer you can enjoy the corresponding seasonally selected Bavarian/Saxon cuisine.
