The location is central and easy reachable, the atmosphere was good as the food was but the staff was very inpolite and nervous.

I have been to Stilbruch several times at different times of the day, the food is alright, the interior nice but narrow people from the next table can eavesdrop as much as they like. Due to the different floors the waiters were difficult to get a hold of. Apart from that a good restaurant but nothing special. Maybe if they... More
After the tough day we've been really hungry for a good Thuringian food and thirsty for beers. Following the huge amount of recommendations we directly went to Stilbruch. The table was narrow, the space was definitely limited and the whole place was overcrowded - not sure that's the best place for a well deserved relax with delicious meal and German... More
Street was being dug up so little hard to find, but very popular, good beer and quite a wide range of food - traditional German, Italian even French style - which was good quality and not too expensive, good service but as with many small German towns only take cash for payments - worth a visit
Came to Jena with no expectations and were attracted by this restaurant "row." Stilbruch had healthy, fine food and friendly service, Highly recommend!
The restaurant is very well known and very well supported by locals and visitors. I have been eating here since I first visited Jena and I continue to eat here, having moved to the area in 2013. Any time I come to Jena, I stop by this magnificent place, authentic location as well as painted menu, this restaurant place provides the ultimate experience of Jena cousin's, especially the pan cook dishes are most recommended, waiters are friendly and professionals unless you are in a hurry.
Not sure why people go crazy with this place.. I have been here many times ordering different food trying to understand why people love it here. I failed. The staffs were very unfriendly and food is alright. Just average. I would not oder any pasta dishes as they are always over cooked.. Pan dishes are quite reasonable.
The locals are raving about this place - I do not know exactly why. But the good stuff first: The restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored period building and is spread over three floors (if memory serves). You'll find lots of nooks and corners to sit down and have a great time with your company. Service was very reliable,... More
