We came here to book a table for dinner but had to rethink as it was full. We had an excellent fish dish each with a glass of local wine and wished we could have had more time here. Next time!

We had lunch here as part of a group so didn't get to choose the food. Were served lamb chops which were so delicious and prepared perfectly. Dessert was strawberries with some kind of cream - also delicious, as was the espresso. Service was formal...More

Had a lovely meal here for my parents' anniversary. Was spoilt for choice by varied menu. My chicken liver on salad starter was delicious! Would definitely go back. Reservations recommended.

The restaurant itself is of course in a cellar, see the name, but the food is well above the ubiquitous Italian restaurants of Weimar. Professional service which does not forget you even if you are seated in a cozy corner out of view. The small...More

Very friendly service. I was a solo-traveler first time visiting this restaurant, and the waiter was very accommodating and recommended many local dishes at small portion.

Take a seat and get inspired by the historic atmosphere of the century old cellar ceiling. In the Elephantenkeller, our regional specialty restaurant in Weimar, we serve Original Thuringian specialties in an ambience that even Goethe very much appreciated and drank a glass of Madeira. Bright wooden furnitures and flickering candles illuminate the historic Elephantenkeller in an incomparable light. Special attention deserves the delicious crispy duck with Original Thuringian dumplings that matches perfectly to a fresh beer from the tab.
