La Encina Plaza Vieja is one of many restaurants on Calle Marin. All were crowded so I expect all are good. La Encina offers a free tapas (and you have a choice of tapas) with the purchase of a glass of wine, etc. Extra tapas are 1.90 Euros. There are small plates for 4.50 Euros and then full dinners. The... More

You get a choice of a tapas with each drink. Had both chicken and beef on a bun - both very tasty. Very enjoyable and pleasant alfresco lunch.

Tried several places in Almeria city and decided this was all round the best for their Menu de Dia.It is also available written in English! Pleasant area to sit, relax and enjoy a tasty, wholesome meal. Plenty of choice on the menu and everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommended.

We visited Almeria for 1 month and had dinner several times at this restaurant. The staff, especially Carlos and Alejandro, are so welcoming and helpful to tourists that we kept returning! The food is tasty and the ambience comfortable. Thank you for wonderful and entertaining times!

Order a drink and you can those a free tapa from a menu. There´s a lot of tapas to chose of, and most of them are very tasteful. There is quite a lot off tables outside and also seating inside, where it looks more like a pub.

We had a restaurant all picked out...but it was Sunday and it was closed!! We saw the outdoor tables for this restaurant..and sat down...it was the season for flies (october) and we soon decided a better dining experience was to be found inside...we opted for the restaurant...and had a wonderful meal, antipasto of hummus and olives, followed by Paella for... Whilst wandering around Almeria we were drawn to the entrance of this restaurant, it looked like a typical old Spanish bar with a rather plus restaurant through the back. The service was polite and efficient. The food was delicious, typical Spanish food with a bit of a modern twist and the local house wine was excellent. We had planned to... More

Good varied choice on the menu, the wine we wanted wasn't availiable but the waiter recomended an alternative which was good. Menu in English, food was good but not amazing. We loved that we could book online, linen serviettes and good wine glasses added to the experience. If you want a safe option in central Almeria it's a good spot.

This restaurant was so good we ate there for 3 nights running with my sister Lorraine. Wow, Alfonso went out of his way to give excellent service, offering us suggestions, like whole baked fresh fish and so important to me, the best vegetarian dish I have EVER had in Spain. They created a dish especially for me which was wonderful.... More
