It was a delight to discover the Paseo Maritimo in Pedragalejo. As a frequent Malaga visitor it had only ever been a sign on the motorway and I had no idea that it was such a funky little beach suburb. The Paseo (no cars on...More

When I come to Malaga in the summer we always come to El Chancla, hire one of the Balinese beds, and spend the day at the beach. They do amazing ham, egg and chips here (I'm sure they call it something far more sophisticated). My...More

Love La Chancla. We have stayed in the summer and winter. Refurbished hotel lovely. Disappointed that we had no extras in the room. On previous visits we had a little pack in bathroom with extras that you will need on holiday. Bring them back please....More

I'm a regular visitor here (3-4 visits here a year for 2-7 days each time). La Chancla is a great, all season destination but I particularly love the beds in summer. However, this is also a source of my gripe - they have stopped reserving...More

This small hotel is quirky and on the beach. The room we had was somewhat small (Mayo) and in need of upgrading, but great view of sea. There are plenty of restaurants along the front but this made it noisy until 2am most nights which...More

The place looks really nice, in front of the beach and with a hip decoration. The food looks good on the menu but it is definitely nothing worth waiting for... And that was the issue. We had to wait over 1h to get 5 dishes,...More

We feel very sorry to hear that. We apologize. Our waiters are always attentive to customers, but each table must wait their turn and in summer we are very busy. Thank you very much for your comment

Great location - overlooking the beach, very chilled and relaxed. You can sit and have a drink or choose from the menu which is pretty much a bar menu - good choice of modern food - salads, burgers, fish, steaks - not your typically Spanish...More

La Chancla is a small and friendly three star hotel set in a pedestrian area on the sea front of Pedregalajo, a traditional fishing quarter of Malaga. It is the only lodging in the capital of Malaga that can boast of such a particular location, on the sea shore, where you can find all the peace you need within the city centre. Spend the day relaxing on the sun terrace of La Chancla soaking up the sun, In the evenings here you can admire the impressive Andalusian sunsets. Take a stroll down to the beach from La Chancla, where you can lie back on the fine sands and swim in the Mediterranean Sea. After a long days sightseeing, or on the beach, unwind in the on-site jacuzzi, followed by a drink in La Chanclas terrace bar.
