We ate at El Taller - the fancier, white tablecloth restaurant that is next to the La Vina del Ensanche with the bar. You have to enter through the gourmet food store, which is a little confusing especially with the overflowing bar next door. We made our reservations online and were the first people seated at 9 pm (although it... More

Pricier and more popular with locals than most for pintxo but that seemed to be because the quality was better. My mini egg custard and pate in individual pan was sublime very buzzy but older crowd

Nice and busy bar close to the centre of Bilbao. Serving staff have limited English but enough for you too get by. Good food. We chose the tasting menu which provided a lot of variety of local dishes but perhaps was not at the quantity you'd like. All-in a meal with beer/coffee for €75 for 2 and nice food as... More

Just for a "cafe con leche" or some "tapas" this place is perfect destination. Very crowed at rush hours, with typical lovely atmosphere. Good quality food and more than reasonable prices

Order the prefix option so you can taste a little (a lot!) of everything. The staff is very busy but they are friendly and courteous. The food is very good you will enjoy it a lot. I saw the locals (they look like locals) getting some type of meat (chunks) with potatoes and it looked delicious but I forgot to... More

This was a truly wonderful experience. We only barely managed to book a table, popping in the day before to ask. The restaurant is also a small shop with a small selection of food and wine. The bar with the same name is next door. We enjoyed the seven course tasting menu at fifty euros. Each dish was a nice... More

Booked a table in person as tried in vain on line. Restaurant is extremely popular and has great atmosphere. The waiters didn't speak any English but we went for the tasting menu and we were not disappointed. We were amazed by the abundance of food that just seemed to keep coming. The stand out dishes were the iberico ham and... More

Visited with party of 16. Had tasting menu of something like 8 courses. Excellent food @30 euros. Ham,cod, pork cheek all very tasty and beautifully presented. Fantastic service for such a large party. Would definitely return with family. Also has very good delicatessen and shop.

N43°15,726' W2°55,954' This pintxo bar experienced the Lonely Planet effect after the outstanding must-visit verdict: it could well be the best place to eat pintxos in Bilbao. Foreign visitors flocked to non-English speaking La Vina del Ensanche. The solution was twofold: an iPad with the menu in six languages and extra tables outside. We wanted to sit inside so queued... My parents and I went on a 3 day trip to Bilbao and ate here 3 times - twice for dinner and once for lunch. Very reasonably priced and excellent quality food. Much less carb-y than some of the other places we tried which made a nice change. Staff very friendly - brought us the dessert menu in English (even... More

With a tradition of more than 85 years, La Viña del Ensanche offers two different spaces: The Bar, traditional premise with the classic ambient of tavern, including a covered terrace. It's Degustation Menu includes the best products from our main carte. Is the best option for an informal contact with the rhythm and pulse of the town. The Taller (Workshop), an intimate ambient with a more exclusive service, with a Gastronomic Menu accompanied with a cellar of more than 150 references, all prepared live in front of the customer. Finally, the Store, a delicatessen where you can purchase gastronomic specialities and selected wine.
