Poor quality compared to other taverns. The products were not fresh enough. Most propably prepared way earlier before.

We went on Monday afternoon and got several pintxos and tortilla de patatas. It was all fine but nothing really stood out. We had a glass of rioja and a glass of ribera del duerno which were both great. My suggestion: get the wine, skip the tapas.

I was taken here by one of e great chefs of the town. The owner is an intellectual guy with a friendly attitude. Served great wine both txakoli (pronounces chakoli) and my favorite Rioja wine from south. The unusual pintxos are there to be tasted. Try to try the rooster comb.. it was the first time for me..

We came by this restaurant, because the owner of another restaurant (!!!) brought us with the words: These guys will watch after you! And they did. Good wine (try an Albariño wine with some fishy pintxos), nice food (although kitchen was already closing when we arrived at 22.00) and a great atmosphere. A place to go back!

Both the rioja and ribero del duero red wines by the glass we ordered were excellent, as were all the different pintxos we tried (4? 5?). Staff were friendly and attentive at the bar. The place was busy, but not obnoxiously packed. A cool vibe. It seemed a tad pricey for the neighborhood, but the quality is there. We'll probably... More

The four of us stopped by here for lunch in the middle of siesta. Most businesses around were closed and the locals were coming in for lunch, which added to the ambiance. There was no menu, but the owner invited us to pick from a variety of freshly made pintxos that lined up a counter. There must have been around... More

Tucked away in one of the streets of the old quarter of Bilbao is Xukela. It's easy to pass it by but stop and take in a friendly cafe, almost all of whose walls are covered with photographs and other illustrations. They clearly tell of meals enjoyed and good company! The local Basque dry white wine (Txakoli, pronounced Chekoli) is... More

We stayed just around the corner from Xukela and we had a drink there on 3 occasions. It is nicely decorarted and the pinxtos looked great. We didn't eat here as we were always on our way for dinner. There are only around 8 tables and although they are quite close together, it was not a problem. This is a... More
