I've been coming to Sans Sebastian for over 23 years and often to the Gandarias. It has a real Basque fell to the place. suggest you get a good selection of starters for the table and then pig out on the steak which is the...More

We visited Gandarias twice. The first time was to have pintxos. We had had a good lunch and did not want a big meal that evening and wanted to eat before 9.00pm. We had to stand but had a couple of glasses of wine and...More

I dined twice at Gandarias during my 2 week stay in san Sebastian. In both cases I had the same dishes: Fish soup and Chuleton (T-bone steak) washed down with excellent house wine. They serve the best steak I have had in many years. I...More

We had a chuleta and ox tail. Both were very well cooked, the waiters were really friendly but what really stood out to us was the delicios olive oil and bread. We'll come back try some fish dishes and pintxos.

Love this place because it has great pintxos (who doesn't) and can usually get a table for dinner. Meanwhile last time I was there the staff was helpful in coordinating drinks with our food. Try the shrimp brocheta and tuna with brie as well asset...More

Specialised in beef. You have to taste the "vaca vieja" steak (old beef). Don't miss it if you like beef steak. Be careful to order too much, better share salads some dishes. You have to book in advance, it's always full.

Very rude service however admittedly we don't speak Spanish which I am sure is frustrating for the staff. I did try to speak a few phrases in Spanish but they staff ignored me and continued to serve the customers who were the most aggressively trying...More

The food was indeed good, but the way the staff treat their clients is infuriating. When we entered the place the waitress told us, quote: "You need to order one main course and after that you can have as many tapas as you want UNTIL...More

We appreciate your visit and kind words about our courses and pintxos. Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding and we are very sorry if we failed to explain how our restaurant works. When our customers want to have pintxos while sitting on a table, we normally...More

Managed to call them in the morning and got a table at 8:30 the same evening. So glad we tried this restaurant. Good atmosphere, big portions, delicious food, our waitress was lovely and very attentive, staff speak English, has English menu. We enjoyed two different...More
