About
Our restaurant is located in Palma's old town, on the ground floor of the Hotel Posada Terra Santa. The building dates from the XV century and has original Gothic arches that we have recovered to make the dinning area cozy and unique. Our a la carte menu with offers a wide range of options that are perfect to enjoy excellent quality food in a very special place. In addition, we have a selection of wines and champagnes to complement any meal or snack. If you visit us on a Thursday we recommend you to try our tasting menu "Descubriendo La Despensa", a seven courses tour specially designed by our chef Matias N. Provvidenti. Welcome!

My husband and I had a superb dinner (and breakfast) here while staying at the accompanying hotel, Posada Terra Santa. The meal was just amazing and the wine, from Mallorca, was one of the best we've had in a long time - all at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is very special and adds so much to the experience as does the super attentive staff. Our waiter, Pedro, was impressive - tirelessly serving us both at dinner and breakfast and consistently doing whatever he could to make our experience spectacular.

I invited friends who live locally to join me for dinner at the Posada Terra Santa’s restaurant. It is an airy space with well set apart tables and an open kitchen. We ordered kir Royale to start. The cassis was dark so our drink looked like Coca Cola. I ordered the vegetarian items of which there are a few choices: caprese salad came with a big firm ball of mozzarella on a bed of delicious sweet tomatoes. My friends had duck bao: a good take on Chinese duck pancake or Bao and Mediterranean Sea scrolls: a light crispy pastry covered fish which they both loved. Mains were excellent. I had a vegan timbale consisting of quinoa with small cut veg of cauliflower zucchini broccoli, a well judged flavoursome dish. My companions had lamb and sea bass respectively. Service was attentive. We loved the food which was reasonably priced and my friends declared would be their local favourite restaurant to visit again.

La Despensa del Baron restaurant is in the Posada Terra Santa hotel where we stayed. We don’t normally have an evening meal where we stay but we arrived at the hotel late and rather than go out decided to eat here and it was really good, so good in fact that we ate there twice of an evening. There is a great atmosphere in this place, the restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful, the wine is really good and the food gets a wow from me. On our first visit I had a Caprese salad and they certainly didn’t stint on the mozzarella which was big and my other half had the Made in Spain which was Iberian ham on one plate with tomatoes on bread on another, followed by Pluma (Iberian pork). The second visit I had the Made in Spain to start followed by a steak which was cooked to perfection and my other half had Croquetas de Gamba al ajillo and then the Pluma. The second time I also had the Tiramisu del Chef which was tasty. On both occasions we had a bottle of chardonnay which was really good. I would describe this place as a hidden gem and would certainly visit again if I was in the area, even if I didn’t stay at the hotel, which I would :)

As staying at the hotel and having read TA reviews we decided to eat here the night of our arrival. Maybe we were unlucky but we were underwhelmed and disappointed in our meal. The restaurant is lovely, very atmospheric but perhaps slightly weird layout that a lady coming from the spa stood in her bathrobe at the lift staring at us and other diners. I can understand why you would not partition of the space, just a bit off-putting. The waiters were all very nice. One was obviously new and being trained but he did very well. The food. The small appetiser given was a tad undercooked for chicken for one of us. the other one was OK. Mains were OK but the Pork one of us had was a tad overcooked, not burnt just cooked to long. The desserts were nice, but average, they didn't make you want to have another one. The bottle of beer I had was cool but not properly chilled. The wine my partner had was very good. Overall, those small faults made it an underwhelming experience and was not what we were expecting based on other peoples reviews. The hotel was brilliant and we would stay there again but don't think we would try the restaurant again.

Good food but not great value. I had eaten at some mid range and some great restaurants whilst in Palma, and whilst the food here was tasty I don’t think it was good value for money. The wine list is excellent and reasonable, the staff friendly and ambience/environment was great overall. Would recommend the 36 hour lamb and hummus - surprisingly came in a light filo pastry but was super tasty.

The positive things about the place: the service was fairly fast and the starter (prawn tartar) was good. Negative or really disappointing was: the amuse bouche was tasteless and lacking salt. Main course (lamb suckling) was far from tender (apparently low temperature cooked for 16 hrs). For me it appeared as if it was heated up a couple of times. It was dry and very low on spices and no salt again. The same was the case for the sides. As if this was not enough, the lamb leg was missing one part of the leg and the remaining piece had hardly any meat on the bone. Unfortunately due to this experience we will not come back again. Far to many good other alternatives in Palma.

Slow to seat us, however once seated service was good. The setting of the restaurant is lovely. We started with pork dumplings which were really tasty. Although they were well presented, it was on a narrow plate and we felt as if we didn’t have enough room on the plate, and it seem like every piece ended up falling off the plate, which wasn’t helped by the lack of a knife. For mains my husband ordered the slow cooked lamb and I ordered the Majorcan pasta dish ‘Burballes’. Although both were nicely presented we both felt that there was no flavour to the dishes, no garlic, no herbs, no salt, no pepper, just meat and pasta…not at all what I would expect from a kitchen in Majorca! Unfortunately the meal was let down by this lack of flavour. Onto the desserts, my creme brûlée was not a creme brûlée, it was more of a trifle with a crispy top, although it did have a nice flavour. My husband had a chocolate torte type dessert, which again came on a long narrow plate and he had a struggle to keep it on the plate. All in all it could have been so much better. More attention to flavour is required.

A great restaurant with excellent food. We really enjoyed the salmon starter and the tuna main, very delicious. The star of the show was our outstanding service, it truly was the best service we have received in Palma. Our waiter Pedro was so attentive and helped explain the menu perfectly. He made sure our dinner felt special and that we were happy with every dish. This restaurant is a must for anyone visiting palma.

This delightful restaurant is tucked away on a quiet street and located within the building occupied by Posada Terra Santa where we happened to be staying. We ate at this restaurant four times during our stay as the food was so good that we just had to return. The talented chef knows how to match flavours to best effect. The menu is varied and inventive with a good choice of starters and sharing plates plus a choice of fish, meat and chicken dishes. I particularly loved the lemon risotto with prawn carpaccio which was sublime and so good that I ordered it a second time. The chef also created a very tasty amuse-bouche to liven up our tastebuds before our menu choices were served. Desserts were delicious and I loved the Chocolate Marquise with pistachio crumble and the Coconut Panna Cotta with hibiscus sauce. There was also a good choice of wines by the bottle or by the glass which I appreciated as my other half does not drink alcohol. The staff were welcoming, attentive. and worked well as a team. The food represented excellent value for money considering the expertise involved in creating such wonderful dishes. The restaurant has a relaxed ambience and we will definitely eat there again when we return to Palma.

House restaurant of the Posada Terra Santa, an admittedly excellent and very informal hotel where we had the pleasure of staying for a few days. As the restaurant also doubles up as the hotel breakfast room and the fine dining kitchen is used by the morning chef to conjure up his egg menu, the magic of the room for a gastronomic extravaganza was rather diluted. But a stylish room it nonetheless is, with its well-preserved stone arches and exposed areas of brickwork. The menu seemed quite creative if somewhat abbreviated. We just concentrated on the main course and, as fish avoiders, the options were rather limited. I have to say that my well-cooked beef tenderloin on a very dull, dry and far too large spanish omelette was one of the silliest meals I have ever experienced. Apparently there was some perigord sauce too: barely a discernible smear in reality. Meanwhile Mrs EPR was doing battle with a slice of Iberian pork fried on one side only, although in a rich coffee sauce with at least some roast vegetables. Plenty of room for desserts afterwards, and we both tried the chocolate marquise. Rather a small narrow bar of chocolate confection that was probably just on the right side of being too rich. It turned up again the following morning at breakfast time, rather more cubed, as part of the cake offering so I tried it again! There seemed quite a reasonable wine list with a couple of examples by the glass. One was very palatable, the other really wasn't. Only two guys on duty for not very many punters so they managed quite capably and both were polite and efficient. Nowhere for them to go in the tiny kitchen when not working tables, so they lurked around in the dining room with one absorbed in his laptop most of the time when not serving. So, not quite as special as we had hoped but we didn't let it cloud our very positive impression of the hotel in general.

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay at the hotel one night (Posada Terra Santa) where the restaurant is located. We wish we could have stayed more nights. It is off a small square on a side street rooted in history (the stone arches in the restaurant are approximately 500 years old). From seating, to presentation and taste, everything was excellent. We are certified food snobs, and La Despensa did not fail to please. We started with the anchovy appetizer to share. For next course, the prawn spring rolls were probably the best I have ever had. My husband and I both had seafood main courses and ended with dessert (sea caramel mousse and marquise de chocolate. Both desserts were light, airy and not too sweet. The service was top notch, friendly and attentive. Our waiter was very informative as to the nuances of Mallorcan language vs. Catalan language. In addition, it definitely was not too pricey for the quality. Would definitely recommend without hesitation.

Absolutely top class. This restaurant seamlessly mixes fine dining with a relaxed and fabulous sense of a special night out. The food menu which reflects Majorcan cuisine is not overly large but offers excellent value and quality. Something for everyone! We enjoyed the Tumbet, as a shared starter and then a steak. Both were first class. The wine list as you would expect was also extensive and offered great value. We enjoyed a bottle of red after a glass of cava. The price for what can only be said was a special night, was approx 100 euro total. Excellent value and would recommend to anyone who enjoys great food and wine.

My wife and I had a long day (port de soller and Soller) by train and tram and looked up restaurants near us — walked through a non descript door into luxury and beauty both architecturally and food wise. I had the rainbow trout (fish of the day) that slid apart as it should with vegetables and mashed potatoes sides. Delicious. My wife had the lamb shoulder wish she loved. Previous reviews commented on temperature and tenderness missteps — tonight it was perfect. We shared a banana crepe that was also A-1. Service was excellent. If you are in the area don’t miss this restaurant

Visited this evening and had the most wonderful evening. First time back at the hotel since Covid and keen to try the restaurant again and the offerings of their new chef . The new menu is fabulous. We sampled the oysters followed by starters of fresh anchovies and pork dumplings. Both were lip smacking delicious. Mains were the fish of the day which was a perfectly cooked piece of hake and a tuna / salmon tataki with quinoa. Despite being fit to burst we shared a banana crepe with caramel sauce and tahini ice cream. Very yummy . Hats of to Gabrielle and Nacho who attended to us and whose service would not go a miss at many of the michelin star restaurants we visit in London. If you are in Palma and like good food and exceptional service in an amazing setting then a visit is a must to this restaurant.
