Recommended by our hotel as we could not find anywhere open. we weren't too sure when we entered as we were the only guests that evening. Food was really good. We shared a started (veal carpaccio) which was superb. My wife went for a cod stew that had a lovely rich fish stock and I went for the pizza puttanesca which was incredibly tasty. Good wine recommendation as well. A very pleasant surprise

Sandro is a lovely restaurant. Nice decor and ambiance (and spotless loo). The lady we had serving (half english) was very nice and efficient. The food was all good. We stuck with classic bruschetta followed by pizza, a seafood ravioli and ice cream. So simple choices but all very well presented and delicious. More adventurous items are available of course. Just a nice change from the tapas restaurants that are deservedly popular in Palma.

Good Italian food prepared simply and with tradional flavors....
Started with the bruschetta, 2 pieces of nicely toasted bread, chopped tomato, garlic, basil and EVOO, well seasoned...good size to share for 2.
Then my wife had the fresh pasta of the day with Bolognese and I had spaghetti carbonara. They gladly accommodated my request for it to be done with fresh fettuccine instead of the dry spaghetti pasta. It was great, very crispy guanciale brought a smoky flavor and it was easy to finish the entire portion, which was fairly large!
Juan, our server, was very good and we had an enjoyable dinner!
Our bill was about 75€, including a bottle of rosè and a bottle of water, excellent value!

We book this restraunt as the reviews were good. Thought we should book somewhere as it was New Years Eve.
We had a table book for 7.30 We had a few drinks in the hotel opposite the restaurant .
Got to 7.30 and there was still nobody in restraunt so stayed in hotel bar.
We finally saw some people go in so we went.
Got glass of presseco on arrival.
Husband had to ask 3 times for a beer finally came.
We new what the menu was as we had emailed before hand and the menu was a set menu sounded nice.
Not sure what first came but was like a jelly
Then Champayne Truffle rissotto ,filled by sea bass .Sea Bass ok but that's all.
By this time it was bloody 10pm. We ask when the mains would be served she said about 20mins.
10.30 mains arrived Sirloin Beef Wellington which looked nice came with 2 little potatoes which were bloody cold. We did get the waitress and explained didn't look very happy that we had complained but can't eat cold food which should be hot. Sent both are meals back . 10 mins later ghey brought us 2 different plates of food potatoes were hot BUT the Wellington was clap cold. Couldn't believe it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So we asked for ghe Manager who was very nice at all got very nasty .I tried explaining but he was having any of it. I said to him would you like go be served cold food (he said no)
We asked for bill which had all the food on ghat we sent back refused to pay it all so he got nasty again and called my husband Bastrado.
AND THAT WAS NEW YEARS EVE!
Beer and Crisps is what we ended up having about 01.30am

You threw the money at Sandro's face!!!
First of all, we don't accept bookings for new years eve without being prepaid and we accept yours, because you couldn't do a bank transfer.
And we trust on you.
Second, a menu that night has got times, is not a fast food store or anything like that. If you wanted your menu quick, you could have told us when you email us and at 10pm you would be done.
We opened at 7pm, because we worked all day long, so the restaurant was open, you arrived late!
And finally, we apologized about the main course and we offered you to try another one. Because we wanted you to go happy, but you didn't want to. So you started to be mean and rude because you didn't wanted to pay. You thought, after all week working, all day at the restaurant you could throw our job down and get it for free.
At the end, you threw the money at Sandro's face!!!

Firstly the money wasn't thrown in his face, it was put on the table.
If id have wanted my meals free of charge i wouldn't have paid €110 id have walked out without paying. You were lucky to get €110!
Yes i was a annoyed, being called a bastardo is enough to annoy even the most placid person.

To be continued... Other clients and our staff saw your reaction with the money, sorry.
My fault to book you a table without paying in advance, as all restaurants do.
Best of luck. 🥂

I eat Italian food a lot and I think it can be hard to satisfy my taste. However, I liked this restaurant a lot. I had a pasta and it was great! The location was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. I can fully recommend this restaurant!

The only reason that I ended up experiencing the culinary delights of Sandro was because it was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Palma as otherwise i would have been unaware of its existence as its located quite a bit back from the main tourist areas of the Majorcan capital. It's an unassuming looking family restaurant that under promises but over delivers. Definitely a restaurant to seek out and make a detour for!

I went to Sandro last minute, I wasn't very keen to eat a pasta, but my daughter was, so we went. But I confess it was the best decision of the night. The dishes we ordered were all very tasty, and I found the prices very good too, and in addition great service. I recommend

Came here as a family and everyone ordered each their dish. The dishes were too small and you don’t become full, so it is not worth it for the price. Also, the truffle pasta was too hard and not just Al dente it was hard and uncomfortable to eat. Good service but they kept forgetting our orders like our coke, and coffee but didn’t take anything off the bill.

Unfortunately not completely satisfied😰
We decided on the daily recommendation as a starter and unfortunately misunderstood it.
We had understood carpaccio with potatoes, but in reality we got potato slices with sauce and that for €18.50 was far too rich for a starter and not appropriate for the price. The tagliata were absolutely OK. The tagliatelle with fresh tuna only saw the tuna from a distance. The service was OK. We didn't see Sandro, who had answered the phone in German, for the rest of the evening. It's a shame that it could have been much better with a few minor things.

Hello, I went to Rte yesterday. Sandro and I ordered this dish "Our classic “Cacio e pepe” €13.5
Rigatoni with pecorino cream and pepper finished in the pecorino mold" and they do not pass it through the mold, which is what most people want, at least for me, when it is ordered.
I told the waiter and he told me that he did it behind me, there was not a single lump of pecorino anywhere, there was only the sauce. It's a shame that they make these things that leave you with a bad feeling when they lie to you. The service was good. and they are friendly, the food was good.

Absolutely brilliant
We went on no a Sunday evening … about 15 mins walk up from the hotel we were staying in by the cathedral… but worth every step.
The food was exceptional . Simple stater then carbonara and my other half had egg plant parmigiana as a main.
Both were superb, I’m into Italian and the carbonara was possibly the best I have ever had .
Cannot speak highly enough of the food, the wine and the service.
If you’re in Palma take the walk….it’s worth it.

In essence this is an Italian restaurant in Palma. It’s small, the owner is the head chef and the food is good. There’s nothing spectacular about this restaurant. Our hotel recommended this to us as it was a short walk away.
We tried getting in here the night before but it was booked, though there were plenty of empty tables. This was an issue for another couple the following night when we were eating, there were 3 tables full and they made him sit outside to eat.
The food was good, you can’t really go wrong with a pasta dish and the portion sizes are filling. Slightly expensive but an enjoyable meal for the two of us. Make sure you book in advance and don’t turn up on the night like we did on the first night as the restaurant won’t accommodate you or will sit you outside where people stand and smoke!
On a side note the head waiter as friendly as he is can be slightly offensive in his humour. You don’t know whether he is being serious or trying to have a joke with you. But it’s all good natured… I hope!

Beautiful Italian cuisine served by the most friendly and welcoming staff.
The restaurant looks very unassuming from the outside however on the inside is very tasteful. A perfect place for couples or family dining.
The menu offered a delightful selection of our Italian favourites and they did not disappoint. The pasta was perfectly aldente and the sauce was just right both in flavour and quantity.
Tiramisu is a must for us in an Italian restaurant and again this didn’t disappoint.
We finished off with an amazing, chilled, homemade limoncello. Best I’ve ever tasted!
Definitely worth a visit when in Palma City.

Mandatory stop if you want to enjoy authentic Italian food. Very warm and familiar atmosphere. It should be mentioned that the treatment of both the owner and the waiters is very professional and close. And most importantly, exquisite food that transports you to authentic Italy.
