Bar Marucho is a casual local fish restaurant but do not be deceived - they take their fish very seriously!! We were warned that you had to get there early (8.30pm) before the locals to bag one of the few tables in this tiny restaurant. It was so worth it as we were given a table upstairs looking down on... We were lucky to get the table in a top night time, after 9.00 pm, not waiting even one minute. The bar is small, very small, loudly, overcrowded, but it's magic place. The seafood and fish are fantastic, extremely fresh and served in large portions. The poor English of the waiter staff doesn't create any problem in communication and you... More

Visited at lunch for a drink and a looksee - was treated to nibbles and a taste of the fish soup - that made up our mind to return that evening and we had a sumptous meal of Anchovies, Oysters, Langoustines and Sea Bass all with a lovely light bottle of white wine. Must say my mouth is watering as... More

Tables and decor are like restaurant bars in the 60's but everything makes up for it . The staff are so friendly- all of them . Service and attention to detail excellent and all goo very good .... I had already heard about this place. You cannot book a table. Just go there and if it is early will be easier to find a free seat. We were 4 and we ordered some appetizer and then a main course. Take into account the daynof the week, but especially the season of the year to order seafood. It was... More

We went for lunch as our host in Santander recommended us this place. We had to book because the place is small and gets very busy. We had some local wine and some tostas with cheese and piquillo peppers to start. Then we had some amazing seafood plates like almejas a la marinera and albóndigas de rape with sauce. The... More

The seafood variety was great! I waited for approximately one hour, albeit: the wait was very well worth the experience!

I read great review for Marucho, so we decided to visit this place. We were there around 02:30 pm and it outside people were standing, drinking and snacking. Inside was full, but the owner took my phone number and 20 min later she called and said there is a table for us. And it was good decision that we waited... More
