On a cold rainy night in Toledo; forest mushrooms with garlic, Jamon de bellota , Partridge casserole, oxtail and homemade ice cream with Pedro Ximenez. Warm welcome from-and great interaction with the owner Javier and his wife Angeles.Small intimate restaurant that has been in the same ownership for 30 years. You almost expect Lorca to appear!

My wife and I ate here while visiting Toledo. There are so many restaurants in the main part of town, and we tried to find something a little different. The food here was wonderful, and the wine very good value. The lady at front of house was extremely helpful and we tried to blunder through the menu with very limited... More

First of all I have to mention the courtesy and the supreme kindness of the personnell. They really make you feel great there with them. The environment is lovely: very vintage and traditional in the most positive way. This is not the conventional "mainstream" touristic place. In fact it's not in the very center of the city, so it would... More

El Albero is located in the centre of Toledo and easily reachable by foot. A lot of locals eat at this place and you can hear Spanish all over the restaurant. The restaurant is very small and has a beautiful torrero decoration on the walls. Even though the owners don't really speak English, you'll feel like at home. The prices... More

Intimate atmosphere: the place is small. Since we reserved early for dinner (9 pm is early in Spain) we had the exclusive attention of the couple running the place. Yes, it looks like a family-run business. The menu was original; I had artichokes with clams -- exquisite! We were also served amuse-bouches, quite untypical in Spain. Both excellent, like wild... The food was great quality, the alcohol was cheap and the lady who worked there was very friendly and helpful despite my lack of Spanish language skills. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We found this just because the other two places we intended to visit were closed and we read the Tripadvisor reviews. So happy this was open for one more night before their holidays. Friendly couple running their restaurant. We sat outside. The only ones there at 9:30 but by the time we left it was very busy. Quick and attentive... More

It's no surprise that El Albero is ranked so highly on Trip Advisor. The warm greeting we received on arrival set the tone for an excellent evening of honest and authentic Spanish cuisine. Great food, wine and hospitality; a perfect example of the best Spain has to offer.

The best food in our trip thus far in Spain. The food was excellent. The service made you feel like you were family. We had the huevos rallados con pisto, Rabo de toro and so many others recommended by the wife owner. All of her recommendations were on point. Even our 11 year old picky eater loved it all.

Just outside the city walls, in a quiet residential street, this tiny restaurant is definitely a local's place, and seems to be run by a husband and wife team - he cooks, she serves. We had found it by accident, so to speak, while browsing through a little Spanish-language guide to Toledo restaurants in our hotel and we are very... More
